From the outset, we knew that our rubs and seasonings needed to be made with quality, all-natural ingredients, without preservatives or fillers. When I created the recipes in our test kitchen, this was simple for us to achieve… but when it came time to upscaling to a commercial manufacturer, we quickly found that the quality of dry ingredients varied a lot!
Seasonings are best for quick/flat cuts of meat or roasts. Our low and slow rubs are stronger in flavour, and don’t contain delicate herbs. Try them for yourself.
When we set out to craft our own range of seasonings and rubs, our brief was clear. Create a range of convenient, complimentary flavour profiles that elevate your meals, but that don’t overpower the natural flavours food, or that unmistakable Weber flavour that’s produced with lid-down barbecue cooking.
Cooking the families Christmas ham has quickly become a tradition and a responsibility of mine in the days leading up to Christmas. It’s one of my most rewarding cooks of the year. It’s a loving process tending to a huge roast; scoring, preparing, smoking, decorating and glazing it. It’s a joy seeing everyone tuck in on Christmas Day, and there’s the happiness of guilt free ham eating every day for the days or weeks following Christmas.
It’s known that the rubs and seasonings market is already crowded with crazy names, funky designs and bold colours- maybe it is all to compensate for what’s in the bottle?
Well, we stripped it back and kept it simple, because its what’s on the inside that counts ;).
It’d be a pretty tough ask to find an Australian backyard that hasn’t seen a ball bowled, wheelie bin stump rolled into place, automatic wickey chosen, or a six and out called as a well-worn cricket ball disappears over the neighbour’s fence. Cricket is deeply rooted in Australian history, a cornerstone of our culture, which makes it no surprise it’s also a part of Weber’s history in Australia too.”
