Rated 1 out of 5 by from Sold me out of stock grates. Didn’t want to refund I can’t believe Weber is asking me for a review of my experience (encapsulating what was awful about my experience). Weber sold me grates they didn’t have in stock. When they didn't arrive after the shipping window they provided ended, I reached out to customer support. After finally getting through to a person that person accused me of buying grates after those grates had sold out. I hadn’t done that. -After- I bought the grates the website was updated to show it was sold out. Customer servics could not tell me when it would be back in stock but did not want to give me a refund. Customer service told me I should shop around at local authorized dealers and if I found one for sale at a store I should call back and then they would cancel my order and refund the money for the grates they sold me that they did not have (and did not know when or if they would ever have again). I said that would not be ideal and I preferred a refund. Customer service put me on hold for five minutes to check to make sure that I wasn’t an idiot who ordered grates when they were out of stock. I wasn’t an idiot so finally he agreed to refund the money. If I thought I could find it at a local shop I wouldn’t have paid for shipping. I ordered stainless steel grates off Amazon for less (and free shipping) that feel better than the grates I replaced and arrived in less than a week. Overall a really terrible experience with Weber who is a company that is supposed to be so good about customer support. Maybe it was just a terrible cascade of rare and unfortunate mistakes. But even then the customer service call was so awful. The fact that Weber didn’t reach out to me or just automatically refund the order once they realized their mistake in selling it when they didn’t have it sucks. But then the customer service call accused me of being stupid. Which, although sometimes I am, I was not this time. And then weeks later Weber has the nerve to reach out to me asking about my experience. I didn’t go back to the website to write out this complaint. Weber actively solicited this complaint by sending a junk email to the address I provided when I ordered from them. Weber’s technology apparently kind of sucks. But then the solutions Weber had its employee press also sucked. Weber should have refunded and apologized on its end for its mistake without me doing anything. I’ll order any future replacement parts third party. The Amazon grates arrived quick, were cheap, fit great, and won’t rust away like the Weber ones did.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Weber Replacement Cooking Grates Decent solution to the "square" grates that build up food and are harder to clean. These grates seem to be a lot easier to keep clean. They will discolor depending on the heat and where you're cooking, but they seem to be holding up well after a couple months of use. These were definitely a less expensive solution than others I found, but I think those would have been solid tubes. These grates are just formed metal (semi-circular hollow shape), so I wonder about long term durability since the bottom of the ribs will trap heat. That probably helps get them to temperature quicker, too.
