Preheat grill on high for 15 minutes and brush grates with stainless steel grill brush. For heavy grease buildup, use Weber Grate Cleaner and Scrubber Pads after the grill has completely cooled.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Standard OEM 90s Genesis replacement grates These are the coated stamped steel grates, same as stock 90s grills came with. My original grates had a few welds break and were pretty beat up. You may prefer wire grates, or cast iron, so just know that these are stamped sheet metal and not wire or cast, but they are high quality. That said I like these since they match the original equipment, and they are slightly more non-stick and easier to keep super clean. The coating is similar coating to what's on the inside of an oven.
