Hear From Other Grillers

Weber® Q 1200 Gas Grill (Liquid Propane) is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 7001.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Can Weber Right the Ship?? I bought this model largely on the strength of the brand name, as well as the table-top size. The results have been mixed, and my rating could just as easily be two stars as three. It worked well, but the regulator lasted only about 10-12 uses, requiring me to get a new one from Weber. Fortunately the grill was one month within its warranty period so they sent me one for free, but the Internet is full of bad comments about this exact problem so it is likely one of inherent design and build. In other words, this is not a reliable grill for long-term service right out of the box. If I were a Weber executive this fact would frighten me to death. Because of the early failure of the regular, I no longer have respect for Weber gas grills and will likely look elsewhere for my next model. That is a real shame. What griller has not seen or used a Weber kettle somewhere? I suspect that the grill parts (all or some) are no longer made in the U.S.A. and have used cheap materials and construction to keep costs down. This will kill Weber in the long run. I hope this new regulator that I installed will work for a long time. I wish I had the confidence to say that I think it will. Sadly, I think my experience is one of many such experiences, and is likely the tip of the iceberg that will sink what I once thought was the best brand out there.
