Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great Smoker - Bad Customer Service The smokey mountain is great however, the customer service leaves a lot to be desired. As an owner of multiple Weber products (my grill was my latest and last purchase of weber) who actually takes the time to register their purchases I expected to be treated a little bit better when I unknowingly made a purchase through an "unauthorized" dealer. Buyer BEWARE who you are purchasing from. This product is fantastic but there is NO distinction between an authorized and unauthorized dealer. Do not chance your warranty on such a high dollar item. I certainly would not have if I thought a brand new item could be sold and shipped from someone who is "unauthorized".

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid Smoker The grill was easy to put together. I only used it once so far. Smoked four rack of ribs. Two on the top rack and two on the bottom. The bottom rack is runs about 20 degrees hotter than the top rack. The aluminum access penal took some time getting used to. I also had some problem with lid. It could just be me having to get used to it. It does not seem to fit quite right. It made be made that way to create a tight seal or could be out of round. I just don't know but I have to play with it to get it on there correctly. The thermometer glass got a rainbow to it while smoking but cleared up the next day. I called customer care and they said if it happens again they will replace. I used about 3 chimneys (not weber) of charcoal and five pieces of apple wood chunks. Ran a little hot at first but once I closed the vents I got the temp down to 250 degrees. I opened them slightly and the temp stayed there for over 5 hours. This grill has plenty of space and maintains its temperature for hours. I can not wait to do a turkey, brisket and pork shoulder. I never smoked salmon but I will before the summer ends.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My largest smoker Following a microburst that sent my 18" flying to never never land I replaced it with the 22" charcoal WSM. It accommodates about everything that I need smoked, 15lb turkey, two slabs of baby backs (18" ea.). Still dialing in the cook times. Using sand in the water pan to compensate for temp. fluctuation with a water pan resting on top of the sand. With this configuration I get the benefits of the water and warmer stable temperature. The next mod. will be a hinged top so I don't have to lift off the lid during the cook. Family said, Best Turkey ever! Don't forget to brine!
