Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good, Solid Product I just received a Weber gas grill for Father's Day. I have always use briquettes in the past because I could add apple wood to make the smoke. I wasn't sure if this Smoker Box would work or not because I've always put the wood directly onto the fire. It worked great! I filled it up with cherry wood chips and put the box/chips in the sink for an hour, put it on the side of the grill over a burner that was on high, waited 30 minutes, and then I had a great amount of smoke for about 45 minutes. Perfect! By the way, I was cooking pork ribs and needless to say, there is nothing left but bones.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Inexpensive way to smoke fish I bought the smoker box about 6 months ago and have used it many times. I wanted to smoke fish occasionally and didn’t want another appliance that I would only use once in a while. The smoker box is the perfect solution. It is easy to use and a variety of wood chips are readily available. Smoking fish is a little tricky, as you need enough heat to light the chips and create the smoke, but not too much heat to over cook the fish. A little trial and error is required, but once you get it, the results are terrific. I light one of the three burners and put the smoker box filled with soaked wood chips over that burner. I put the fish on the other side of the grill. Smoking for 45 minutes to an hour usually does the trick. I mostly smoke salmon, but have also done bluefish, to make a delicious smoked fish pate. I highly recommend this product. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is that managing the heat is a little more difficult than having a dedicated smoker.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Wood burns too quickly and top is warped I used this the first time to smoke a brisket and the holes are too large so the wood burns very quickly with heavy smoke. The top hinges on two pins on the side and jammed open a few times. On top of all this the top actually warped during the 8 hrs low heat smoke!!! Other smoker boxes have a piano hinge and small slits to keep the smoke slow and steady
