I don't know why I considered this a downgrade ... the Q rocks! Another great Weber product!

A recent move left my grill destroyed by movers. It was a Genesis Silver C, and I had had it for 12 years. She fared well, and I loved that grill.

Our new home has a much smaller deck and, in the interests of matrimonial harmony, I needed a grill small enough to share space with seats, etc. At first, exploring the Q as an option seemed like a punchline. Then I thought critically about my concerns: the lower BTU output, and the non-traditional design.

My research on several grilling and barbecuing boards I follow was quite revealing. Several others were in a similar situation and boasted of this grill's prowess: its fast preheat, the searing capability, durability and versatility.

It was enough validation for me to take a chance. I am so glad I did!

We had new NG lines installed to our deck, and I tested it the same day of install. The Q3200 heated as quickly as any grill I've ever seen: straight past 600 degrees in 5 minutes. It holds its heat surprisingly well.

My concern about BTU output has proven unfounded. This thing sears incredibly well. I use it primarily for lean meats and veggies, which means high, intense heat is perfect. (Fattier foods I save for me Weber Kettle.)

And I have no clue why I was concerned about the grill's modern look. I love the power of good design, and this grill is a testament to it. It saves space well. The fold-down side tables work well with my small deck. The LED light on the handle is a major bonus and a great feature I can't wait to use as the weather turns colder, and twilight beckons.

All in all, I am incredibly happy with this purchase. If you're like me and feel hesitant, consider your needs. If you need a versatile grill with great design and durability, you can't go wrong with a Q3200!

Wow!!!

This grill was a shocker. I expected an underperforming grill, since it broke the mold for what I was used to, which was square and stainless with flavor bars or bricks. This had a great design is all the places that count. Nicely thought out features like integrated LED light and nothing extra that is not needed like a side burner. It was also a happy solution to a marriage dispute. My wife wanted a small grill, but I needed something that could provide the heat needed to sear and space to cook for a crowd. This does both. The sides fold down when not in use and can cook almost as much as my much larger grill. I just used it once, but was so happy with this purchase that I had to write this review.

Fits our needs, and works great!

I wanted a grill that would fit under the over hang in a small space on our deck. Every grill I found was cheaply made. Grab the handle a shake it a little bit, they all wobble. Not the Q3200 it is sturdy. Still the cooking surface is large enough to grill an entire steak dinner for 6, including 6 steaks, brussells spouts in foil, porta bella mushrooms. The cooking area is bigger than our last grill. It gets hot enough to sear steaks. I've had it month and use it 3-4 times a week. This morning I cooked sausage and pancakes using the griddle accessory. They were awesome, and I can cook more faster than using the stove. I wanted a smaller foot print in a gas grill. On the weekends we can spend more time, then I will use our charcoal grill. Soon it will be a Weber Performer Deluxe, my next Weber purchase.

From my price shopping Weber controls the lowest price, like Cannon and Nikkon cameras. So skip the big box store and buy it from your local store owner. They had same price as Amazon's best, they even help load it in the car.

It will be 60 degrees in MN today!

Love My Q

This is my second Weber Q grill. The first tipped over and the bowl broke. I was devastated!
So today I purchased a new one and this time it's natural gas!
Absolutely love this product. Best Grill Ever!

The grill I had been looking for!

I have been through many less expensive grills. I had been looking around for a grill that would be durable, efficient, good looking and great quality. I found it! The cast iron grill grate is awesome! The lid is quality cast aluminum with a durable finish that repels any moisture OUTSIDE the cook area. The side shelves close down to fit nicely in a corner on my deck. I really appreciate the two burners that allow for various temperature cooking. Someday I want to get the attachable light for lid to eliminate cooking food on the grill. It is well worth every penny!

Even better than I could imagine!

I've had my Q3200 for a few days. We purchased two through Lowes, one for a friend and one for us. I assembled both on the same day. The instructions were simple and easy to follow and all the parts fit perfectly. I am very impressed with the rugged quality of this grill. Our friend used her's first and she was amazed at how quickly it heated up, how well it cooked the steaks, and how easy it was to clean. I understand she has used it a couple more time since and loves it.
I have used mine twice and found it to be a far superior grill than any I have ever used. At first, I was reluctant to spend this much money on a grill, but now I see what all the Weber enthusiasts are raving about. It puts out a perfect blue flame. The porcelain coated cast iron grates are incredible. The thermometer is surprisingly accurate. Even the parts that are made of plastic are very strong and solid. When I fire this up, I don't wait more than a few minutes to slap on the steaks and they are sizzling immediately. If you like your steak rare, like I do, then be quick to get them off the grill. This unit gets hot, hot, hot, and leaves perfect grill marks.
I wish I had bought a Weber years ago.

Best Grill We've ever had.

I have the Q300 Grill. It's almost identical to the Q3200, except it doesn't have the warming rack. It's a good grill. It's the right size for my wife and I, but still big enough for when company comes. It heats quick. When I start the grill for the season I make sure the burner holes are clean, and I've never had a problem with the ignition. The only problem with the grill, was the paint started to peel from the top lid after about 3 yrs. and I'll have to purchase new burner control knobs, because the paints wearing of them to. I've had the grill around 5yrs or more.

Still in love with my Weber Q after 5+ years!

I adore this little grill!! It's just perfect for me and my family, and so reliable! I started out long ago with a Weber kettle, and grilling really felt like a chore, and was it was kinda scary for me to transfer hot coals. I'm just a delicate little flower! Ha ha So, I finally talked the hubby into getting me a gas grill, and I was sold!! We have had our Weber Q grill for over 5 years now, and I use it almost daily, weather permitting, Spring through Fall. Every year when I break her out and clean her up, she lights up on the first click! She sits right outside my kitchen door ready to go at the touch of button. This year I definitely need to replace her grill grates, but I think that's pretty reasonable for 5+ years of heavy use.

Very Pleased

25 years ago I abandoned gas grilling and have been a "charcoal snob" since. I have a couple of Big Green Egg grills and a Weber Kettle. I still use my charcoal grills, BUT some days I just want to knock something out in a hurry. That was my justification for buying the Q3200. While it started that way, I have to admit, I find myself using my Q far more than I ever expected. I love the porcelain cooking grids. I also love how quickly the Q gets up to temperature and how easily it maintains temperature while roasting. Over the holidays I did an 18 pound turkey to absolute perfection, something I have struggled with in both ovens and other grills. The optional griddle is my favorite accessory. I use it to do breakfast, keeping bacon grease out of the house. It cooks home fries perfectly and can do a mountain of them at a time. Cooking indirectly poses a little bit of a challenge. If you turn off the central burner, using only the outside ring, it does an admirable job, unless what you're cooking is wide enough to overlap the area directly over the burner...but that is pretty rare. Using the Weber disposable trays and the roasting trivet helps in avoiding direct searing of edges. This is a very well designed and very well built grill that I thoroughly enjoy using. I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone.
