Wow!

I love my Weber grill for SO many reasons that my fingers would get tired texting it out, but I know I had to write a review after our latest hail storm. It was a doozy of a storm that broke windows, our air conditioner, totaled our car, but our Spirit grill came away with nary a scratch. Both the roofer estimator and the insurance agent were amazed. It was the end of a long day for the roofer but he said that it was was the first grill he hadn't seen damaged all day. Which is why I am a die hard Weber fan ((one of them at least!)

haven't used it yet, but WOW

1) Quality: I could feel the quality of the parts just unpacking the box (I've owned and assembled a lot of grills)
2) Assembly: (Not complaining) there's a lot of parts to this model took me about 2 1/2 hours to assemble (but fit and finish was nice)
3) Features: AWESOME Features in a smaller grill - side burner, sear burner, tank scale
4) Complaint: one of my cooking grates was broken when I took it out of the box (customer service was easy to reach and is shipping me a new one) a little upset that I was told it would take 7 to 10 days to get the replacement
5) Overall: I like this weber so far and have high expectations that I will become a weber fan (when I actually start using it)

if you're considering whether or not to "pay the price" for a weber I would recommend YES - (I paid 600 for a stainless Kenmore and in less than 2yrs it's junk - I own a charcoal grill and a smoker - and have had several others in the past and this WEBER IS BY FAR THE BEST I'VE OWNED

good luck and Thank You Weber

Finally! A NG Gas Grill W/Sear Station +Side Burner in the Spirit Series

Before this year (2016), the only way you could get a Weber with a sear station and 3 other burners was by buying the Genesis model. I got the SP-330 for a fathers' day gift for $300.00+ less then the Genesis that started at $999.00 that had the sear station, and a side burner; but was not willing to pay that much, being a senior on a fixed-income, but an okay income, as I live in a Del Webb community.
The guys(gals) at Weber have now found the perfect niche for a grill with the features 'master-and -wannabe master grillers' at a great price! Also has stainless steel grates, to boot!

Thank you, Weber! Also, the team that came up with this grill at this price, deserves a raise!

Outstanding Grilling Performance

Assembly
- Well packed, mostly intuitive instructions based on diagrams and minimal text
- Instructions should indicate that scissors and pliers are needed (minor issue). Some text describing how to connect the electronic ignition cables would be helpful
- Battery included for starter (nice touch)
- Use of labeled hardware bags makes assembly a breeze
- Total assembly time about 2 hrs

Cooking
- Starts very easily
- Heats quickly
- Max burners easily generates 600 deg
- Controlling cook temperature takes a little effort to get right
- Side burner produces good flame
- Searing Burner works well when flipping meat

General
- Easy to clean grill and exterior
- Fuel gauge helps knowing when you'll need refill
- Locking front wheels keep grill in place
- Integrated temperature guage a plus
- Love the built-in hooks for utensils
- Cools quickly

Accessories
- Grill light is my favorite. No more dark grill at night. Such a useful add-on!

Great Grille, but controls are not intuitive

I bought this new grille to replace my old Weber grille after 28 years of faithful service. And it still worked ok, but the bottom had rusted out, wood slats on the side panel were rotten and falling out, finish was now gray in place of original black. I really like this new grille with the following advice for potential owners.

1) Getting a full propane tank properly oriented and hanging from the gauge bracket is not easy due to confined quarters the sides give it. Lot of weight to be jiggling and hefting into place. If I were 10 years younger, it might not be an issue. Hooking up the tank to the hose is very easy.

2) When I first tested the grille, I could not get it hotter than about 300 degrees. Even with the Sear Station lit up, maybe 400. Weber's own FAQ talks about this and claims there may be a valve pressure equalization issue when first hooking up the tank. I don't think so. It's basically incorrect use of the dial controls. You'd think that full-on gas to the burners would be cranking the dials all the way over to the right. So "if I turn it a little, I get a little - if I turn it alot, I get alot". Nope. For full bore heat, you turn the dials only a quarter turn so the top of the little grille pic points at a black dot. That's maximum gas. Turning all the way to the right actually decreases the gas flow, thus the heat. Took my nephew to tell me this. Weber needs to simply put words there: full, medium, low. Everybody understands that.

3) Bought the cover that spec'd to fit this grille. It does, but I've seen many other reviews where folks have issues with its fit. I didn't.

That's it. I do not think this grille will go 28 years like my old grille did, but then again, neither will I.
