Spirit E310 is an OK grill , but It could be better!

I have tried different grill brands without any success. Last year decided to switch to Weber brand due to their reputation/quality/excellent customer service. My first issue was a formation of rust on all overlapping parts at the bottom of the frame. Their customer service was A+ , and received all parts affected. Last week the center cast iron felt on the floor and broke. It is incredible but happened. Again, customer service was A+. If your concern is the money, I will say the Weber is ok for what you pay. It could be 5 stars but they have to improve the quality of materials. Their warranty is excellent.

Finally, for an entry level grill this model is OK, as long as you have their warranty!.

Great Grill and Performance, EXCEPT

Outstanding grill with one small area of cheap. They replaced the front door with a flimsy and fragile piece of plastic with holes in it. Not too sure why they would do this, but it makes what would be aesthetically and functionally perfect grill, look cheap and not worth the money. It also gets frustrating getting the plastic piece on and off to turn on the gas. Trust me, it is BAD and CHEAP design. But, in going with the Weber reputation, I purchased it anyways. Honestly, this review would be 5 stars instead of 4 if it weren't for the plastic front. I decided to overlook the Cheap aesthetics and focused on the performance. WOW...Simply put, Great performance, even after 2 years of grilling on it regularly (2-5 times/week). I would definitely recommend buying this grill. However, if you have the funds, personally I would consider the Genesis over this one. Because I have 4 small children, I am fortunate to have purchased this one...lol.

Bottom line: Buy it...You will NOT be disappointed with the performance. If you can get by the looks that is. They may have changed back to the door because of so many complaints...the picture above has the door. If this is the case, I wish I waited :(

Love to grill

This review is a mixed product review. I have owned a Webber gennes E-310 for 14 years and it is truly the best grill I have ever owned! I'm 66 years old hand have been grilling since I was a boy scout, have owned many grills so I know what I'm talking About! I love to cook big, roasts, pork loins and buts, and my favorite standing beef rib roasts. I use my grill 2-3 times a week, year round. My Genesis is still in great working order, but years of winters standing on the walkway of my condo, the salt has rusted the bottom out, no fault of the Product! I decided this year I would replace my grill. I've been on the website and seen the changes for 2017, so yesterday I went to my local Ace to see them in person. After looking at the models I decided that the the Spirit series would fit my needs, he had one with stainless grates that I fell in love With! I made my purchase of a E-310 and my son is going to pick it up Saturday, cannot Wait! One of the reason I love Webber so much is that you can get any part you need if replacement is necessary. My Ace has had every part in Stock when I needed it, that's empressive to me, try to get parts for the other brands! I would like to finally add that I have been very successful at selling Webber to friends and family, 7 have converted so far!

This grill will make your grilling easier!!

I waited six months to write this. I have the stainless steel E-310 with stainless grates. I have used a tank of propane grilling on this in about 6 months of use and I would recommend it and buy another one. I have had two other brands of propane grills and this beats them hands down. The quality is so much better. It heats evenly but the best thing is NO FLARE UPS. I cooked brauts, burgers, porksteaks, skin on chicken thighs, legs, breasts and all the foods that would flare up on my other grills without any problems on this. It makes grilling seamless and more enjoyable. Cleaning it is easy because of how everything comes off without any work.

Weber customer service is great also. I had a dented/bent back piece of the bottom grill body and called them up and they sent me a new one. They were professional and pleasant and easy to talk too.

I purchased the Weber 18" charcoal smoker after this grill purchase/experience and love it too.

I grew up with my father using a round Weber, maroon colored, enameled charcoal grill. He got it in 1982ish and my brother still uses it today and it is in great shape.

I finally purchased my Weber products and I am very happy with my choice to purchase Weber.

WOW there is a diffence

I have hand many grills over the years and thought there was not much difference. BUT I was wrong. The sales associate at home depot told me to try the Webber that he owned one and that this AMERICAN MADE grill was superior to the other grills. I told him American made was a big deal to me as a combat veteran of AFGANASTAND and Iraq. After putting it tighter I could see the Quality of everything include the packaging and care that was taken to the set up. this is a great grill and a great American company. Thank You

I will never go back to cheap grills again!

I have loved barbequing for years now but have always found it frustrating to deal with flare ups, hot centers on the grilling surface, unusable areas on the grill, and rust.
Now that I took the big step and spent $700 on a grill I must say it is the best BBQ I have ever owned or used for that matter.
I only could afford the 3 burner spirit but because I can actually use pretty much all of the surface area on the grill it's like cooking on a 4 burner. I really enjoy the cast iron grill and my chicken wings are now famous at patio parties.

We will see how it lasts the test of time but so far so good. I use it less now that the weather is getting cold here in Nova Scotia but when it was warm I used it 5 out of 7 days per week.

Keep Weber in the family

I loved my 12 year old Weber Q grill ,had collapsable stand for camping, I gave away a larger grill (can't remember the brand) as a single 60+ lady it was all I felt I needed. My son insisted I get at least a 3 burner at my new home. He was so right. Took me about 40 minutes to assemble. The "scale" for the propane tank is wonderful - have changed out the tanks 3 times since I purchased it 5 months ago- no issues. When I made ribs, it was so nice to be able to see the level of the tank before starting the ribs so I could change it out beforehand rather than during cooking (particular about my ribs).
Quality is so above the other grills I looked at, just opening the lid, touching the grates. This grill was going on an uncovered deck - I didn't want to be replacing parts 2 years down the road. I know I won't with a Weber. I handed down my Q grill to one of my children who loves using it (tailgaiting, camping) This 3 burner might not be sufficent for huge family gatherings, but it's been fine for cooking entire meal for 8-12 on grill. Maybe I'll hand this one down to my grandchild for their first Weber.

Love the Grill- Hate the Door

I have tried the grill and love it. It heats up fast, its easy to use and the food tasted great. One thing I cannot understand though is why Weber would put such a cheap, horrible door on this grill. It's flimsy and bend so easily. Every time I look at it it irritates me. I also wish the side tables folded down. It would be a great space saver and would have allowed me to take my grill home in my vehicle. Other than that it's a really great grill.

Love my spirit e 310...

We got our spirit e 310 3 weeks ago and have cooked supper on it every night since then. So glad we spent a little more and got a highly recommended grill...it was voted best in grill test for the money. BUT.......hanging the propane tank on the hook where the capacity meter is , it is the hardest i have ever seen. The hook is narrow and you cannot see what you are doing as it is placed up high and the panel blocks your view. I have to lay on the ground, put my hand under the tank and lift it up, all 30 lbs, and maneuver the top with my other hand. It is not a good set up. I cant imagine someone old or not very strong even being able to do this.....I have decided I am just not going to use the meter from now on and put a board across opening in bottom and just sit the tank on top. That means I have to buy a line meter to tell when the tank is getting low....if the hook had been made a little wider this would not be needed. Poor design, shame on you Weber.

Over 3 Years Later and Still I Exclaim - "WOW! WHAT A GRILL!"

I wrote a review of the Spirit E-310 after using it for only four months (See Sept 15, 2013 "WOW! What a Grill!"). A glowing review during the "honeymoon" stage of grill ownership is understandable particularly when a Weber grill is compared to poor quality department store grills that, incidentally, are engineered to rust through in 2-3 years. But when a glowing review continues after over three years of frequent use during all four seasons of the year, the grill must be truly exceptional. My Weber Spirit E-310 is absolutely the finest gas grill I have ever owned.
Everything I reported in my Sept 15, 2013 review continues to be true. Every feature of my grill is still in excellent working order. If you were to look at the interior of my grill, you would see the inevitable discoloration, evidence that it has been used heavily for three years. Yet, the burners and connecting tubes show no sign of deterioration. The flavor bars are still rock solid. They sit on a solid cast aluminum body, not on flimsy rust prone steel holders. Unlike department store grills I have owned and hauled to the landfill, the Weber has a small frame inside the cover that, when the cover is closed, blocks wind making flame blow-outs much less common. The grates, those wonderful cast iron grates, have only improved; a little spray of oil and they are nonstick. You would also see that I take care of my grill, as recommended by Weber, because I believe it when the famous Food Network chef, Alton Brown, says that a clean grill cooks best. The bottom of a Weber grill is a convenient, slide out drippings tray, which also shows no sign of deterioration. I remove mine for a quick cleaning after a few uses, after particularly messy foods like spare ribs, or after each use of the rotisserie. The cast iron grates get brushed after every use. I give the entire grill a thorough cleaning, inside and out, 3-4 times a year. If you were to see the exterior, you might think it was a new grill. With a little simple maintenance, this grill will last for many more years. If it were a department store model, I would be shopping for a new grill about now.
The only thing I would change on my grill would be to make the utensil hooks on the ends of the tables larger or deeper.
I also made a very positive review of the Weber rotisserie accessory (Sept 22, 2013) but mention it here only to highlight the exceptional customer service you can expect from Weber. It is the only thing I have had to call them about. After purchasing the rotisserie I did not actually use it for about three months and when I did the motor did not work. I emailed Weber customer service expecting to get a run around from someone. With no questions asked, a new motor was delivered to my door in two or three days. I could not have asked for better customer service. It is comforting to know that Weber really stands behind their products. If you're sick and tired of replacing your gas grill every 2-3 years, do yourself a big favor -- buy a Weber!
