Retired an old friend

Today I put aside my Weber 18" grill of over 15 years use. Replaced the cooking grill three times. Still working but kettle's legs getting loose and fall off every time I try to lift it. Let's face it, it was way overdo. Replaced today with first burn in new 22" kettle premium grill.

Weber just keeps on going.

Today I took the garbage up to our dumpsters and upon opening the lid I see the bowl of an 18" kettle with only one leg attached. I reached in and pulled it out expecting it to be totally rotted out. Nope, it was solid and all leg sockets are firm! Under a pile of half spent charcoal and ash I recovered the grates. They are not the best but they are also consumables in the Weber world. Next up I found the lid. The lid was in pretty good shape with only a small bit of rash. Date code F, 1984! A bit more digging and I found the other two legs, wheels and triangle.
Any way, I brought it all home and put it together, the only thing missing is the ash pan.
32 year old grill and all it needs is a good cleaning and an ash pan.
This just proves that Weber grills are a great value!

diamond in the ruff

My family and I are campers. Every summer we haul around our 22" silver that we have owned for about 10 yrs. now. I had considered the 18" for the compact size and or the jumbo Joe, but never pulled the trigger on either. One day, while driving home with my youngest we spotted a yard sale and off to the side was a 18" kettle. We stopped and looked at this grill. It is was in great condition! I talked to the woman and she said it had been sitting in her garage for years. We agreed on a price and my daughter and I took it home. We stopped at our local hardware store, bought a cover, washed it, did a burn in and had potatoes on it later that night and some steaks on the performer. My daughter has cooked hamburgers, hotdogs and potatoes on this. She says its the right size for her. She is only 4. I absolutely love that. Creating memories and passing down good traditions for generations. A big part of the "Weber experience."

I don't know how Weber cam stay in business

I don't know how they can stay in business with the way the Weber 18" kettle lasts and lasts. This in my second one I ever bough and that was back in 2000, and it still going strong with no sign of giving up any time soon I look forward to getting another 10 to 15 years.

Great Grill For A Small Family

We were already owner's of a Weber gas grill however, recently my husband decided he likes charcoal grills. So May 2015 we just purchased the Original Kettle 18" grill because of the reasonable price.

I've already grilled a few times & I really like it alot. It's a prefect size for a family of 3 and very easy to clean after grilling. In closing I'm very very happy with this grill and would recommend it to anyone. Money well spent.

Best BBQ in the World

As you can see from my title I am pretty keen on my BBQ. I live in the UK and, although most people consider that the BBQ season is the spring and summer months only, I carry on throughout the whole year! I have had my current Weber 18.5" Original for 10 years and that replaced a previous version which finally expired at 20 years old. The main body rusted into holes in our wet environment. My BBQ stays outdoors with no cover so it did very well!

I have used it for many types of cooking both indirect and direct. I use it with lump wood charcoal because the briquettes in the UK are of poor quality unless you can get your hands on original Weber briquettes - but they are difficult to obtain. All meals are lovely and, although I am a devotee of this BBQ, I have tried and owned others but nothing compares.

I highly recommend this BBQ.

My Favourite Grill!!

My 18" kettle has recently turned 20. I've had no issues since the day of purchase. The quality that went into making this piece of our family is astonishing.
The way she heats, cooks, and smokes is amazing. This is my weekend go to grill.
I have created more meals with this grill than any other grillls I've ever owned. This grill is worth twice what it cost.
During the week I utilize the Genesis.
Customer for life.

Vary happy

To start it a great grill for my wife and I. But the real reason why I am writing is to say that the weber Customer service was phenomenal. By far one of the best experiences I have had with any company.

Thanks for making great grills weber and more importantly caring about your customers.

18.5 ONE TOUCH

Best grill I've owned. I use it to BBQ/Grill and would not go back to a gas grill for anything. The Weber Grill is very durable and tough.

Converted me to charcoal!

I needed a grill to cook for three people and my propane grill was crapping out. I got this grill as a birthday present and a hint to ditch the propane once and for all! This is the perfect size for the basics - burgers, dogs, steaks, chops. So far very durable and the food has always tasted great! However, I've been cooking some more advanced Weber's grilling recipes and the size of the grill is just too small for extended burns (adding extra hot coals) and use of a drip pan (I had to custom-make one) for indirect heat cooking. Don't get me wrong, I was able to do everything I had to with this grill, but now I can appreciate the advantages of a larger grill with more useful features. That said, I have grilled up some incredible tasting food with this grill (See my reviews on the stacked baby back ribs and the cider simmered bratwurst). The 22" model seems to be my next logical step as I take my grilling skills to the next level, but this will be my grill when I need a quick no-frills burger or dog.

Love This Little Grill

I never really owned a nice characoal grill but I do now! I grill at least 4 times a week and with just my wife and myself along with an occational visit from one of the kids it is just the right size! Great grill and well engineered features!

Medium sized favorite

I own several Weber grills and this is my "go-to" grill. This One-Touch is all my wife and I need to cook up some very delicious meals any time of the day. I cook breakfast on this almost every weekend and the majority of our grilled dinners come off this wonderfully sized icon. I like this grill so much I have bought this same grill for a house warming gift and would do it again and again.
