Forget the Rest and get an American Tradition.....

Got this for my birthday yesterday, and the assembly was perfect. Took about 35 mins. Take your time, and and make sure everything is secure and tight.

After assembly I wiped it down with a damp cloth, then "seasoned" it with all grates, and parts inside with 50 hardwood lumps in it. Let burn till it was done and cool. This morning I cleaned it with damp paper towels.

I did it that way because my grand father and father had a Weber Kettles and always said that's what the old instructions were, and his first Weber lasted 19 years. My fathers 18.

Tomorrow is the first meal to be grilled, 2 inch thick 16 oz Filet. I can not wait. I hope for years of great meals and memories of cooking like my grandfather and father did on their Weber's. Thanks for making a great American Tradition.

This one is the top dog.

In my backyard I have 2 Oklahoma Joe offset smokers and a Old Country offset smoker. Then I have this guy and another 22 Weber kettle that is the one touch model. I can honestly say I use this for smoking more than my offsets. I purchased an after market product called slow and sear and it's just incredible. I also own other attachments or these kettles a Pizzaque, Weber disc(wok), santa maria attachment, and a rotisserie attachment. However the slow and sear with what I save on fuel is simply incredible. I will end with this. I grew up with the weber 22 1/2. My grandfather had one in his back yard. It was his only grill. For my 8th Birthday he grilled up a Tri-tip and hamburgers and hotdogs. I had not had Tri-tip before because my dad never cooked it. My parents were crock pot roast and fried hamburger people. My grandfather made the Tri-tip special for me. I loved it. I realized he made it via smoking it with charcoal. Couple years later he gave that kettle to me. He moved into a place that only allowed gas grills. One day my family took a trip to a lake and we took the kettle and stuff to make cheeseburgers. On the beach next to a table out in the sun is where I setup. Lots of people and families were enjoying the day at the lake. Well the smell from the kettle was so good that people wanted to know If I was selling or would sell any of the hamburgers. I said no but that is how good these kettles really are. Sadly I did not take care of it as I should have and it wasted away in the rain for many years until it rusted through.

Bang for your buck; No better grill out there!!

easy to set up, and easier to use. set up your charcoal in your chimney starter, pour them in the kettle however best suits the type of grilling your doing. put top grate In and your off!! I have cooked no less than 30 meals in the past 12 weeks ive owned it and have loved every one of them. Takes a bit getting used to charcoal; but once you have mastered the vents and amount of charcoal to use you will never go back! This grill is amazing for small groups or large groups and is made of high quality materials!

22.5 Kettle

This grill is the most versatile charcoal grill one could own. Grill, smoke, pizza, rotisserie etc. There seems to be no end to the different ways that you can cook on here. I would recommend this kettle grill to anyone who is looking for a great charcoal grill. I also have a WSM and an Oklahoma Joe, but the kettle is my favorite and I can't wait to get another one once I can afford it. I want the copper color next so I can fire up,another at the same time. Then possible another color. I have talked others about this grill and they went out and bought one too, and they love it. One other plus, no rust.

Weber Master touch

This is my second Weber. I enjoyed the first one so much that I had it in the elements and cooking 3 to 4 times a week until it rusted completely. My mother in law asked what I wanted for Christmas a couple of years ago. I picked this one out and it's what I got. My husband gets me any accessories I want for the Weber.

My neighbors think I am crazy to cook in the cold. I enjoy it and the food comes out delicious.

26.75 " GRILL IS A NICE SIZE, BUT IT IS FORGOTTEN BY THE COMPANY

The 26 3/4 inch grill is ideal for so many things, it is amazing. I bought this grill because I have a large family and with friends over too, we need the extra area for grilling. I also do a fair amount of large pieces of meat for low and slow cooking for which this is great. I love the charcoal baskets and hinged grate doors for adding charcoal or wood during a cooking session. I often cook several side dishes at the same time so it is ideal for having more than one cook zones. I does its job faithfully, and dependably each and every time.

The one complaint I have is the lack of any accessories for this orphan product of the Weber Company. When I try to reason with them that we need and deserve equal treatment my pleas fall on deaf ears. They apparently have no intention of ever offering a rotisserie ring for the 26.75" grill nor even a cover for us who have bought one. As long as this situation exists, I will not buy any other of their products as I would hate to develop an inferiority complex caused by being the considered a sucker for being duped into a dead end product again.

One touch system

I have always used a Weber grill (since1970) and with the exception of my Old Smokey have been disappointed with the other grills I have used. With this said I am disappointed in the updated one touch system.I like the before system it was easier for me to use.I have a hard time squeezing the handle to empty the ash collector. The before system you just slid the handle and removed the collector.Change is not always an improvement.I contacted customer service and their reply left no hope that this would be addressed or improved.Abandoned by Weber.

Great grill, but the Gourmet Graye is a pain!!!

I just got my first Weber Kettle Grill, followed all the directions for a new charcoal griller, and I made an amazing grilled chicken the first time I used it!

However, the Gourmet BBQ Grate is a pain in the neck to maneuver when lighting the charcoal.

It won't hang on the side of the grill, as Weber recommends, without the insert falling to the ground.

I suppose I need a place to set down a greasy grill while lighting the coals, which is not preferred.

I suppose I should abandon the Gourmet grate and go buy the regular grate, an additional $30 expense.

I'm taking points off the review because the Gourmet grate needs a re-design. I would recommend this with reservations.

Best Charcoal Grill Ever!

This grill has been a pleasure right from the assembly. My past experience with cheaper grills, beside their short lives, has been the horrible assembly. Poor designs, confusing instructions, and missing parts have made me apprehensive and has kept me from buying a new grill for several years.

I am happy to say that the Weber Master Touch has saved me from my past experiences. The instructions were easy to fallow and all the parts were broken into several bags that followed each step. One bag per step. Most of all, all of the parts required were there! It was actually a quick and enjoyable process to assemble this grill.

Within a few hours of purchasing, my family and I were enjoying hamburgers and corn on the cob cooked on my brand new Master Touch. I can't wait to use it again. Maybe some chicken breast next.

Next year I'm adding a Smoky Mountain to my patio cooking experience.
