Sucks big time!

I had an older model for maybe 15 years or more. Worked like a champ every time. This new model worked the first few times I used it, then began messing with me. Had to fuss with it to get it to light, then it goes out. I used small gas cans, can catch a slight smell of gas, see the piezo spark, but no light off, even with a match. Mixture isn't right.

During the summer I'd be on this thing 2-3 times per week under normal circumstances.

Read a lot of complaints about late model, less than 5 years old, regulators, and believe that is the issue here.

Sure be nice if Weber did the right thing and replace all the newer regulators with working models, but I won't hold my breath for that.

If it ain't broke...

I've owned a Go Anywhere since they first came out. It became my favorite small grill and retired my large grill to weekends, as the Go Anywhere was ideal for quick small meals during the week.
I have "nursed" 3 Go Anywheres over the years by replacing the "flavorizer" every few years and ultimately replacing the entire grill when totally worn out.
When I got my fourth home I thought I had bought the wrong model. A quick call to my retailer confirmed this was the "new improved model". I was a bit hesitant, but Weber knows what they're doing right? WRONG!! After the second use (four hamburgers) grease was everywhere! There was more grease pouring out the bottom of the unit than stayed in! Cleaning the table the unit was on took almost as much time as cleaning the unit itself! If you cook anything with fat content, the unit requires thorough cleaning after each use! The old design required brushing the grill after using and a light cleaning maybe monthly.
I would have returned the unit, but since the fuel cost of the 100 mile round trip to the retailer would almost equal the price of the unit and being it was now used , I relegated the unit to my scrap metal heap!
As far as performance, I didn't use it long enough to make any judgement.
If you go back to the old design, please let me know. Otherwise, can you recommend another manufacturer that may have copied your old design?

Like the grill but regulator does not turn off gas completely.

I like the grill. It's made of heavier gauge metal than cooperators. It folds up nice and it's locking mechanism prevents it from coming apart both in use and stored modes. My concern is, the regulator valve does not turn off completely. I consider this a safety issue. The regulator valve needs to be replaced.

Ardent Weber Fan That Is Very Disappointed

My first impression was "Where does the grease go?" But, I proceeded to assemble the grill anyway, which was quite simple). Then, I started reading about maintenance and realized what a pain in the backside to clean. Moving right along, I start reading about "How to light". The igniter would not "click", so I went to the website, per the instructions, to contact customer service. That's when the light came on! I read all the negative reviews and realized this Weber made a wrong turn. I disassembled it and will be returning to WalMart.

I am a long time Weber griller. I've had Smokey Joes, 18" and 22" kettles and 2 Genesis gas grills. I know my Webers and this Go Anywhere Gas grill is a fluke! Shame on whoever allowed this design get released.

My 4th Go Anywhere

First three (older model) were EXCELLENT for tailgating. Wore them out. Observers envious. New design is a serious failure. Engineers would have been wise to cook with a "pilot". Engineering and marketing management - hello - read your customer feedback!

Difficult to believe you put this product into production! Surprised you allow on store shelves!

As another buyer suggested, "If it ain't broken, don't fix it! Classic example.

Worst Grill I ever owned!!!!

I have the older model with the flavorizer bar it's a great little grill but it seen some better days after riding across the country for 10 plus years in my car. I was going to order a new flavorizer for it but at $29 and an extra $7 for shipping I thought was a bit pricy. I seen the go anywhere on sale at a Walmart for $45 so I nabbed it up once I got to work and assembled it I noticed it was s lot different than the old model and thought it would be nice. Boy was I wrong it took forever to get hot. The slight breeze constantly blew the burner out and the drippings drip right on to the burner. Not to mention the broiler rack or whatever they want to call it is next to impossible. After 2 nights of fighting with it I returned it to Walmart and will be looking for some flavorizer bars. If I could give negative stars I would.

Grill top

Have owned quite a few of these grills before, not because they wear out but because i don't keep them up. I can't believe that you would change the design of something that has worked for 30 years to something that doesn't. Must be to cut cost?

NEW DESIGN IS POOR DESIGN

What are your marketing people thinking. I have used Weber Go Anywhere portable gas grill for more than 20 yrs. I use it for travel/camping and have a Genesis for my homeuse.

The Go Anywhere has been productive in every way, I am actually on my third one because I use them so much I just wear them out.

The new design is just silly. The old design was flawless with the flavorizor bar design and chrome grill.

I got more mileage but replacing those two parts which is why two of them lasted over 16 years, now on my third and would have bought another one for a vacation home location but I would not purchase the new design.

I have seen them and read reviews and believe they are the worst deigned grill I have seen.

Please bring back the old stand-by.

Tough to Clean

Not happy with the fact you have to clean this grill after every use especially when we use it just for camping. I'm thinking maybe tin foil might help but you should of kept your old design. It was much easier to clean and not as often.
