Built to last!

My wife and I just had our 8-year wedding anniversary and our Weber Genesis was a gift from her parents. It's been the single most reliable thing I have owned over the past decade. We grill quite a bit (2-4 times/week) and have never had an issue with it. The push button starter still works great, and the cooking performance has always been consistently awesome. I realize that there are cheaper grills out there, but with Weber you truly get what you pay for. You won't regret this purchase!

Good Grill but It Won't Last !!!

I purchased a Weber Grill because of the great reputation they have. Buyer Beware !!! I had this grill less then five years and it is rusting out and falling apart. The cook-box is rusted. The coating on the knobs pealed off. I could go on but there is too much to list. After three to four times of going back and forth with customer service, (Customer Service kept requesting more and more pictures of the grill) they claimed, "None of the problems I am experiencing with my grill is under warranty". So buyers be careful when purchasing this Weber Product. The 10 year warranty as listed on The Weber Grill website does not cover anything.

Great Product but Rubbish Covers

I have had my Genesis grill for 10 years and am delighted with it. The investment is worth it HOWEVER I am now having to buy cover number 4 because they do not last. My grill is not under cover and the covers do not live up to the hype.the original one some 10 years ago lasted the best . My current one Is just over 2 years old and is crisp on top ,cracked and the outer fabric is tearing away, buying a new cover means I will nearly have spent the same cost as I did buying the grill. Very poor product . Really not satisfactory.

My Neighbors Use My Weber

I've had 3 Weber grills in 30 years. One died after 18 hard years. The second I gave to my in-laws after 7 years - it worked great but I wanted to upgrade. They are still using that grill 4 years later. My third grill is about 4 years old.

I currently have the Genesis S330. Like every Weber grill before it this grill cooks evenly, with tremendous heat when I need it. The grilling space is generous. The tank installation is well designed for easy tank changes.

My neighbors frequently ear dinner together. Often times we grill. Over the years they've gone through grills like plastic cups at a party. Some finally stopped buying the cheaply made, shiny junk and now own a Weber. Those that haven't, however, frequently ask to use my grill even though they've got their own. I'm more than happy to oblige them. Some even use my grill when I'm not home. One guy even buys me gas.

You really can't go wrong with Weber. They are more expensive but they last much longer..

A few observations.

1. Always get as much stainless steel as you can afford with the grill. Weber sells models with varying degrees of stainless steel parts. The stainless almost guarantees no replacement of the burner, the flavorizer bars or the grilling rack. The other thing about stainless steel is that it cleans up beautifully.

2. Learn hot to grill. Weber is a great cooking resource. We cook fish on the grill and often it's way better than the fish at restaurants. People complain about badly food grilling. It ain't the grill. If you learn how to use the Weber, the even cooking surface all but guarantees a great meal.

3. Go big. Get the biggest grill you can afford. There's nothing like needing to cook lobster, steak and corn and not have enough grilling space to do it. By the time you're done cooking with too small a grill the first batch loses some of its zing. Go big.

To Weber:

The grill is great but I've learned a few things over the years

A. In the past Weber grills had two layers of flavorizer bars. The newer models don't. Mistake. The second set of flavorizer bars dramatically cut down on flame outs and, in my humble opinion, further enhance the flavor. It's also difficult to cook high fat content meats without creating flame outs . Personally, I like a blackened sausage or blackened hamburger. Other people do not and sometimes it's difficult to accommodate them. There's nothing like burning a lobster tail because the butter when up like gasoline.

B. Move or extend the top handle beyond the sides of the grill. There are times when I don't want to fully open to lid. The problem is that the handle leaves my hand directly over the cooking surface. Suffice it too say I've cursed my way through this.

Keep making a great product. Finally, I'm always shocked that Consumer Reports doesn't give Weber its highest marks. Typically I trust their reviews. They've got the grill reviews wrong and that's based on 30 years using a Weber.

Thanks

Not Exactly What I expected

Another review mentioned that the based was not stainless steel - I guess I didn't really understand what they meant. Now I do. The pictures give the impression that entire unit is stainless steel - far from it. My previous grill was all stainless and lasted 20+ years with periodic replacement of the internal non-stainless parts. Time will tell how much of an impact this has. Also it can with a couple dents - even though the external packaging was fine. I hope my Weber experience gets better.

20 Yr Customer

I grill almost daily, so I put their product to the test. I have experienced some rusting issues which was disappointing but Webber has handled each and every issue perfectly. They have sent me FREE replacement parts for everything that has rusted, which is all you can ask for. I have bought a few grills over the years, but the Webber grill is by far the best grill for the money. I will continue to buy their products as long as they continue to stand behind them.

Highly recommend

The S310NG is my first Weber and I'm very happy with the build quality and over all simplicity of using and especially cleaning the grill! Installation was a breeze with the step by step instructions and the all stainless steel looks great in the backyard.

Built like a tank, grills like a dream...

I recently purchased the new stainless, Natural Gas fueled Weber S-310, as a replacement for my 3 year old LP fueled Black Genesis only because I was tired of hauling LP tanks in to be refilled with the ever more expensive LP gas. I grill about three times a week, 12 months a year, and even more during the warm months of summer, so the LP does add up.

The new S-310 is my 5th in a long series of great Weber grills that I have had the pleasure to own over the years. I will keep a Weber grill a few years while keeping it well maintained and looking nice with the readily available replacement parts available at Weber.com. When I want to upgrade I simply advertise my used Weber in our local Shopper and easily sell it for an attractive price that makes all parties happy. (It beats sending it to the landfill as was necessary with the lesser brands that I have owned in my younger years!)

My new grill arrived in perfect condition. Being a disabled veteran, I was relieved to find that my new Weber was easily assembled just as the instructions directed and, after plugging it into the natural gas line, it fired up with the first touch of the ignition button. Like my previous Weber grills, it cooks evenly at all temperature settings.

Now for my only nit-pick: Unlike my previous Genesis 3 burner grills, I found that the new S-310 was a bit slower to come up to desired temperature and would not reach as high of a maximum temperature, especially when experiencing cold weather. I suspect a new burner arrangement to be the culprit.

In my previous Weber Genesis grills, the three stainless steels burners ran from side to side. In the new Genesis S-310 the three burners run from front to back. This causes each of the three burners to be shorter and farther apart than in my previous Genesis Grills.

The S-310 Genesis natural gas grill still reaches a respectable 550 degrees F. within a 15 minute warm-up and cooks evenly across the grill surface.

In my opinion (for what it's worth) Weber Grills are still the top choice in consumer grills, whether you prefer LP, natural gas or charcoal as your choice of fuel. They may seem to cost a bit more up front but, due their undeniable quality and durability, a Weber grill will always save you money in the long-run.

There is no substitute for a Weber!

Amazing construction

I have owned Weber grills for the past 30 years and I am now on number 3. I purchased an all stainless steel Genesis S-310 about 5 yrs ago and absolutely love it. It's large enough to cook for a group of 10-15 people, the heat is even throughout and it is built solid.

The reason I am taking time to write this is something amazing took place last week. A severe storm with enormous winds struck central Florida around 6PM Wednesday night. Our grill has a cover and is located 25 feet from our pool. The entire area is screened, yet the wind was so severe in a matter of seconds our huge grill was in the bottom of our pool along with 2 lounge chairs. The grill was upside down, submerged for almost 24 hours. Three friends of mine helped me "fish" it out of the pool and I let it dry out the entire day. My main concern was the starter, however, after blowing out the lines it ignited each of the 3 burners like a charm. The only damage was my cover was torn and I need to replace it.

You build a top quality product and that's why I am a loyal customer of yours.

PS I would love for your CEO Tom Koos, could get a copy of this to let him know that his products are indestructible.

Awesome grill

This is my third Weber over nearly 20 years. Probably could get more time out of them, but every time we think about replacing a few misc. small parts like flavorizer bars etc., we decide that we want the updated new and larger model. We started with the 2 burner Spirit, then got the 3 burner Genesis, and now the new model which is bigger all stainless and has the tank in the cabinet underneath which looks high end. The food grills great with this model and the stainless grates are easier to clean than the cast iron. The stainless flavorizer bars should hold up for years to come. Looking forward to at least another 10 years with this grill!

Solid and Logical

I opted for the S-310 over the 330 because I like simplicity, and didn't think I would need the side burner or sear feature. That is personal preference, but I can say that I am very pleased with the 310. It's my second Genesis series - with my first one lasting through 13 years of heavy usage.

Assembly was not bad. I am not mechanically gifted, but wanted to do it myself so I would know the grill inside and out. I'm glad I did, because it will make component cleaning easier and extend the life of the grill. I'm counting on twenty years for this one, and have every reason to expect I will get it. I found the instructions good enough, and as long as you pay attention to the detailed pictures (no written instructions), you'll do fine. The grill came together in about two and a half hours and is solid.

As for cooking, its an improvement over the earlier Genesis series, distributing heat very evenly and predictably. And cleaning is a breeze.

It has rejuvenated my love of grilling!
