I can roast on my gas barbecue!?

arrow

Guests at the Weber Grill Academy are often astounded when we pull a delicious and crispy roast out of one of our premium gas barbecues.

Yes! You can set up your hooded gas barbecue to create convection heat (like an oven – only better) and cook up delicious roast dinners!

It all starts with the setup. Using the same principles as a charcoal kettle barbecue, it’s easy to establish an ‘indirect’ cooking area that your roast-able item sits above (generally the middle of the barbecue), with your heat sources (gas burners) out to either side.

Another common misconception is that you need to use a roasting tray or drip tray under your roast. By putting your roast directly on the grills, any fat or juices that fall through the grill smoke and sizzle on the Flavorizer® bars and create that beautiful barbecue flavour that you just can’t re-create in an oven.

So, if you want to learn more about the versatility, convenience and ease of Cooking with Gas, come along to our latest class offering. We’ll be showing guests how to grill, roast, bake and smoke on our range of Spirit™ II, Genesis® II and Summit® barbecues and would love to see you there.

At three hours long, your ticket to our Cooking with Gas barbecue class experience includes all food and beverages and concludes with a sit-down shared meal. Secure a seat for yourself, or bring along a partner, friend or family member and make a day of it – BOOK NOW.

We can’t wait to welcome you at the Weber Grill Academy – to learn, taste and enjoy.
