Ingredients

Bresaola  Sandwich With  Parmesan And Gherkins 346X318
  • 2 slices of day-old bread of choice
  • 1 tbsp mustard
  • 30-40g parmesan
  • 5-6 gherkins
  • 3-4 thin slices of bresaola

Instructions

    Sandwich with a tasty cheese and meat filling – with the taste of Italy

    In the kitchen:
    • Cut the bread into 1 cm slices. Spread with mustard. 
    • Cut thin slivers of parmesan with a potato peeler and place on the bottom slice of bread. 
    • Cut the gherkins in half lengthways and place on top of the cheese. 
    • Finally, put the bresaola on top, keeping it within the confines of the bread. Top off with a slice of bread.
    At the barbecue:
    • Prepare the barbecue for direct heat – 185-200°C . If using a charcoal barbecue, you need approx. 1/3 chimney starter of lit briquettes. 
    • Put the waffle and sandwich iron in the GBS grate and preheat for 5-8 minutes. 
    • Put the sandwich in the iron and close the iron firmly around the bread. Cook for approx. 5-8 minutes. 
    • Flip the iron and cook for another 5-8 minutes. Check that the surface has a crisp crust. The bread can be brushed with a little oil to ensure a crisp crust.
