Mulled Cider

  • 1 litre good quality cider
  • 200ml Kentucky style bourbon whiskey
  • Thumb sized piece of root ginger, grated
  • 2 lemons, sliced
  • 5 cinnamon sticks
  • 3 star anise
  • Vanilla pod, slit open and seeds scooped out
  • Garnish
  • Apple slices
  • 4 cinnamon sticks


    This delicious drink is perfect for cold nights in!

    • Pour your cider into a large pan and add in the grated root ginger, lemon slices, cinnamon sticks, star anise and vanilla. 
    • Simmer on a low heat for around half an hour. 
    • Strain the liquid to remove the spices and lemon.
    • Pour 50ml each of Bourbon into four heat proof glasses, then top up with the hot cider mixture.
    • Garnish with apple slices and a cinnamon stick before serving.
