Nashville Hot Grilled Chicken Burger

  • 4 Chicken Thighs
  • 4 Burger Buns
  • 4 tablespoons Olive Oil
  • 75 grams Lettuce Diced
  • 8 Tomato Sliced

Chicken Spice

  • 1½ tablespoon Salt
  • 1 tablespoon Black Pepper
  • 1½ tablespoon Chilli Powder
  • 1½ tablespoon Garlic Powder

Yogurt Sauce

  • 1 cup Greek Yogurt
  • 1 teaspoon Fresh Lemon Juice
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste

Hot Sauce

  • 50 grams Olive Oil
  • 50 grams Unsalted Butter
  • 1 tablespoon Cayenne Pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Brown Sugar
  • 2 teaspoons Paprika Powder
  • 1½ teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1½ teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Black Pepper
  • 2 tablespoons Jack Daniel
  • 1 tablespoon Honey

Instructions

    In the kitchen:

  • Melt your butter.
  • In bowl #1 add your chicken spice ingredients. In bowl #2 add your hot sauce ingredients, lastly in bowl #3 add your yogurt sauce ingredients. Mix each well.
  • Finely chop lettuce and slice your tomatoes.
  • Drizzle olive oil onto your chicken thighs and season with your chicken spice mixture.
  • At the barbecue:

  • Set your grill to indirect heat at 180℃~230℃ and preheat.
  • Clean your grate with your grill brush, and place chicken thighs skin side down at direct heat and close lid for 8-10 minutes. Move chicken thighs to indirect heat.
  • Close the lid and grill for another 30 minutes. Brush your hot sauce on your chicken on both sides and grill for additional 20 minutes. Occasionally, add the hot sauce to your chicken. Remove from grill when the internal temperature reaches 73℃ and rest for 5 minutes.
  • Place burger buns into the grill and grill for 20 seconds.
  • Make your chicken burger. Spread some yogurt sauce onto your buns then add lettuce, then tomatoes, and chicken, and add a little bit more of your yogurt sauce to your liking.
