These tasty morsels are a real barbecue party starter.
- Prepare the barbecue for cooking using indirect medium heat (roast setting - 190°C-230°C) and preheat as directed. See below for information on setting up your premium gas barbecue for indirect heat.Prepare the barbecue for cooking using indirect medium heat (190°C-230°C) and preheat as directed. Refer to Step 8 for information on settings and set up methods on a Weber Q.Prepare the charcoal barbecue for cooking over indirect medium heat (190°C-230°C). See below for information on set up information for Weber Kettles.Prepare your barbecue for cooking using indirect medium heat (190°C- 230°C) and pre-heat as directed. If you are using a Weber Pulse™, place a roasting trivet in the centre of the cooking grill. Preheat your barbecue with the lid closed and your control knob(s) on high for 15 to 20 minutes, or until the barbecue reaches 260°C.Prepare your barbecue for cooking using indirect medium heat (190°C- 230°C) and pre-heat as directed. If you are using a Weber SmokeFire™, set the temperature to 200°C and preheat.
- To prepare the jalapenos; slice in half lengthwise, leaving stems on. Use a teaspoon to scoop out and discard the ribs and seeds.
- In a medium bowl, mix the cream cheese ingredients.
- Add the cream cheese mixture to the jalapeno halves, being sure not to overfill (flat to top of jalapeno is sufficient).
- If required, slice your bacon slices, flat pancetta or prosciutto in half lengthwise to form even strips. Lightly sprinkle Weber’s All Purpose Rub over the bacon. Wrap the strips around the jalapeno halves, securing with a toothpick if needed.
- Once the barbecue has preheated, adjust your barbecue to the settings for indirect medium heat. Place the jalapenos onto the barbecue in the indirect zone. Close the lid and roast the poppers for 20 to 30 minutes, or until the bacon is cooked to your liking.Once the barbecue has preheated, adjust your barbecue to the settings for indirect medium heat (190°C-230°C). Refer to settings in Step 8. Place the jalapenos onto the trivet. Roast the poppers, with the lid closed, for 20 to 30 minutes, or until the bacon is cooked to your liking.Once the barbecue has preheated, brush the cooking grills clean. Place the jalapenos in the centre of the cooking grill, in-between the two charcoal baskets. Roast the poppers over indirect medium heat, with the lid closed, for 20 to 30 minutes, or until the bacon is cooked to your liking.Once your barbecue has preheated, on a Weber Pulse, turn the control knob(s) to medium (210°C-240°C). Roast the poppers over indirect medium heat, with the lid closed, for 20 to 30 minutes, or until the bacon is cooked to your liking.Once your barbecue has preheated to the set temperature (SmokeFire: 200°C), brush the cooking grills clean with a wire brush. Roast the poppers over indirect medium heat, with the lid closed, for 20 to 30 minutes, or until the bacon is cooked to your liking.
- Remove the toothpicks and serve immediately.
- Indirect heat is not available on a Weber Traveler.
