  • Completed step 4 New York strip steaks, each 8 to 10 ounces and about 1 inch thick, trimmed of excess fat
  • Completed step Olive Oil


  • Completed step 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Completed step 1 teaspoon packed light brown sugar
  • Completed step 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • Completed step 1 teaspoon granulated onion
  • Completed step 1 teaspoon chipotle chile powder


  • Preheat the grill with the control knob in the high position for 15 to 20 minutes.
  • Lightly brush the steaks on both sides with oil and then season thoroughly with the rub.
  • Brush the cooking grates clean. Grill the steaks over direct high heat, with the lid closed, until cooked to your desired doneness, 6 to 8 minutes for medium rare, turning once. Remove the steaks from the grill and let rest for 5 minutes. Serve warm.
