Hear From Other Grillers

Igniter Kit is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 92.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Replacement Inoperable/Registration Issues I have been going round and round with Weber support for almost 2 weeks now. After receiving the new Ignitor Kit, I reviewed the parts and instructions. As others have previously noted, the instructions only describe installing the switch - there is nothing related to the electrode. Fortunately, this is a pretty simple process, but after putting in the new parts - I couldn't get a flame. Lighting manually worked so the gas flow was fine. This has led to a long back and forth with support. After informing them the new part doesn't work, they first asked for pictures to make sure I did indeed connect everything correctly. After they reviewed the images, they said it looked like the wires to the switch weren't on correctly and should be swapped. The white wire has a wide flat connector and the black wire has a round connector - they can only go on one way. After I pointed this out, they said make sure the ignitor switch is securely fastened to the frame with the lock nut (really?), and that the metal tab on the side was at a 45 degree angle - this wasn't in the instructions. I adjusted the tab to 45 degrees, and was able to get a flame - once, but not again after repeated attempts. Support responded with "ensure the white wire connection is secure and not loose at either end." That's not real helpful. Thinking the issue might be a faulty wire, I tried getting a flame while slowly moving the black wire under the electrode. That worked - once. I've informed Support and am waiting for a response. One other issue I've run into is, despite registering this grill when I bought it 18 years ago and previously ordering parts, when I enter my serial number online I'm told the grill is registered in someone else's name. After multiple emails with Support, I called and spent about 15 minutes with someone who couldn't do anything or provide any insight on how to rectify this situation. All I'm told is I need to provide the receipt which, after 18 years, I obviously don't have any more. As others have noted, the Support people have been very polite and pleasant, but not necessarily all that helpful.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Better support and tech system Replacement part did not work and I have been back and forth with support for a month to no avail. Now the new part is on back order. The support people are courteous, but they do not know the products. Frustrating. They asked me questions about parts I didn’t have and go on other grills
