Summer is Almost Over, but Safe Grilling Isn't

By now, everyone has had a great summer, full of outdoor activities, entertaining and grilling!   Just because the kids are getting ready for school and family vacations are winding down, doesn’t mean grilling season is over! As you plan your next new recipes for your Weber, don’t forget these easy tips for keeping your grill at peak performance and preventing any unfortunate events!

Gas Grills

Leak check – Check your hose and tank for any leaks each time you change or disconnect your LP tank by using a soapy water solution at the connections.   With the control knobs off, turn on the tank.   If bubbles form, you have a leak.  Do NOT use the grill!

Burner cleaning – Use a clean Weber stainless steel brush to remove all oxidation and debris from the portholes of your burners.  Blocked burners can cause a backflash fire!

Cookbox, grease tray and catch pan, OH MY! – Do you know how much grease has collected all summer long?  Use a plastic scraper to push all of the caked-on grease into the grease tray (bottom tray).  Then, push the debris from the grease tray into the catch pan.  Empty the catch pan and replace the aluminum liner!

Charcoal Grills

Check and empty all ashes and unburnt charcoal from the bowl and ash catcher before you grill. Your charcoal will burn easier, and no burning ash will end up outside the grill

It is just that easy to make sure you and your guests have many more memorable barbecues!   And rest easy…….your grill is safe!!
