the Ingredients

Chicken Tikka 576X265
  • 2 pieces chicken thigh

For the Marinade:

  • 3 teaspoons Garam masala
  • 1½ tablespoon Vegetable oil
  • 1 Hung curd
  • ½ Lemon
  • 3 teaspoons Kashmiri chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 2 Green chillies
  • ½ teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon ginger and garlic paste


    In the kitchen:

  • 01 Remove the thigh bone and cut into cubes.
  • 02 Mix the marinade ingredients in a large bowl then add the thighs and allow to marinade in the refrigerator.
  • 03 Soak 4 wooden skewers in water for 15 minutes.
  • 04 Skewer the marinated chicken cubes and allow to sit at room temperature for 15 minutes before cooking.
  • At the barbecue:

  • 01 Preheat grill to 200°C for 15 minutes with the lid down.
  • 02 Place the chicken skewers over direct heat. Close the lid and let it cook for 6 minutes.
  • 03 Open the lid and using a pair of tongs, flip the skewers and cook for further 6 minutes.
  • 04 Check with a thermometer and once the chicken reaches a core temperature 75°C it is cooked.
