Receiving Supervisor

1st Shift (6:00 am - 2:30 pm)

Summary

Manage receiving of all inbounds.  Coordinate replenishment from other locations.  Oversee picking, staging and loading of shipments.  Coordinate put-away of inbound product. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following, other duties may be assigned

  • Find locations to put product away.
  • Determine amount of freight that will be staged in each lane of LTL
  • Organize the picking of truck loads by separating them by accessory and grill parts after assigning a dock location.
  • Ensure that late trucks are loaded correctly.
  • Perform bin-to-bins to help ensure warehouse organization.
  • Coordinate with manufacturing to correct any production errors.
  • Ensure that all company rules and regulations are being adhered to by all employees
  • Manage inbound shipment schedule
  • Coordinate labor in receiving department
  • Other duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibilities

Directly supervises employees in the department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

  • SAP knowledge/experience 
Education and/or Experience

Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 Language Skills   

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. 

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers common fractions and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent.

 Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, and diagram or schedule form. 

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office, Internet software and SAP.
