The Grill Academy Coordinator is responsible, under the direction of the BBQ Experience Manager, for the professional maintenance and efficient operation of the Grill Academy at headquarters. This candidate serves as a Weber products specialist and utilizes those skills to assist and deliver trainings and product testing. Ideal candidate must have the ability to perform various functions associated to training, education and testing – from set up, preparation, execution and reporting. The successful incumbent must be able to interact with top-level executives, clients, customers, and employees in a professional, courteous manner and have the flexibility to work various hours and shifts as required.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Has a highly enthusiastic and hands-on personality.
  • Executes the mission of educating, inspiring, and entertaining all guests by training each individual on the Weber Brand and Weber Way of grilling.
  • Supports the planning and execution of internal lunches and hands on grilling experiences at the Weber Academy, which include; Department Trainings, New Hire Lunches, and any other event.
  • Assists with the development of new product trainings and new product integration into the curriculum.
  • Researches assigned topics and works cross functionally with other teams to design, create and publish said material.
  • Documents summaries and evaluations from each training sessions, including key learning’s.
  • Assists Grill Academy team in the execution of C-suite level grilled meals.
  • Responsible for the cleanliness of all used Weber grills in the Academy and detail cleans grills monthly.
  • Runs errands when necessary.
  • Travels remotely for Grill Academy trainings to assist manager when necessary.
  • Reviews Galaxy product prototypes, design/features and validate direction with griller’s insight (this includes both hardware and software/app).
  • Executes Galaxy performance testing to ensure product meets all quality and performance standards. Tests product for “real life” usage assessments.
  • Develops “Novice griller” council consisting of internal basic Weber grillers. The goal of the Galaxy product is to exceed expectations for a novice/aspirational griller.
  • Tests Galaxy products using scientific protocol for guided grilling presets (temp conditions) by food type and by grill fuel type (gas, pellet, electric).
  • Works with BBQ Experience Manager and June to develop guided grilling UX, cook programs and development structure. Reviews and resolves “edge cases” for created a simplified approach (e.g. multiple grilled meats cooking at one time).
  • Assists in the cook program development process, writing the step-by-step alerts for grilling, inputting these steps into the cook program editor and ensuring that both probed and non-probed cooks align to the Weber Way of grilling.

Education and Experience Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in relevant field required
  • At least 3 years sales/product training/culinary experience required.
  • Demonstrated success at problem solving
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Planning and organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to multitask required
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software required
