Director - Global Logistics

Summary

The Global Logistics Director is accountable for the global logistics network operating performance, creating best supply chain operating footprint solutions, and global transportation services provider engagement. The Global Logistics Director will develop operating strategies to optimize global logistics networks and supply chain operating footprint solutions including ocean carrier performance, end-to-end transportation value creation, and transportation lane efficiency. The director will deliver process improvement solutions delivering value through performance improvements and cost efficiencies. This position will manage a global team both local and in market support reporting to the Vice President of Global Logistics and Distribution.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide global leadership on supply chain operating footprint strategies, transportation network optimization solutions delivering best value for ocean carrier logistics and inland source and destination transportation services
  • Lead global supply chain network optimization process delivering solutions and value for cost, service, and customer service capability
  • Recommend global transportation network support solutions engaging with outside logistic service providers while partnering internally with Global purchasing
  • Engage Global region operating partners to design a best fit supply chain footprint model supporting exceptional customer service capability, best in class operating capability.
  • Accountable for spend to budget management, on-time carrier consistency performance, and overall transportation service performance levels
  • Create annual productivity goals with active project decks to deliver on productivity value targets
  • Develop mode-specific Procurement Guides reflecting business requirements
  • Lead the implementation of new service providers and/or services
  • Establish KPI’s & corresponding Performance Review process
  • Serve as an escalation point for performance issues
  • Identify and implement service & cost process improvements
  • Communicate potential supply chain disruptions internally & develop alternate flows as needed
  • Communicate/collaborate with Global Logistics, Purchasing, Retailer Services, Supply Chain Finance, Legal, and with internal & external customers

Education and/or Experience:

  • BA/BS degree (Master’s degree preferred)
  • Years of experience : Minimum of 10 years of work experience in a similar setting
