Global Distribution Analyst

Summary

A Global Distribution analyst, uses analytical methods and a variety of tools to understand, predict, improve and/or control Distribution operations and processes. A Distribution Analyst, is responsible for data management, analyzing performance, identifying problems, and developing recommendations that support Distribution management. A Distribution Analyst solves problems by considering courses of action within the framework of management goals, standards and objectives. They operate with minimal supervision and once given projects, they prioritize and execute efficiently for optimization and enhancement of Global Supply Chain.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The following is not meant to be a total list of duties and responsibilities, other duties may be assigned by your supervisor and are required.

  • Develop & Report Global Logistics KPIs and metrics on a monthly, quarterly, annual and ad hoc basis, related to:
    • Logistics performance
    • Transit time
    • Mode selection vs. Optimal
    • Equipment utilization
    • Shipment visibility
    • Data integrity
  • Conduct data mining and data analysis to find trends, patterns and opportunities for cost savings
  • Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports
  • Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality
  • Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems
  • Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
  • Supply data needed to support Global Supply Chain business cases
  • Filter and harmonize various data sources to identify and correct issues
  • Work with management to prioritize Global Supply Chain business and information needs
  • Locate and define new process improvement opportunities

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience
  • College Degree and/or 3-5 years relevant experience in Supply Chain/Logistics
  • Experience with SAP required
  • Intermediate to Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel required
  • Experience with Tableau (or other business intelligence/analytics platform) strongly preferred

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine emails, reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
