The Manager of Supply Chain Strategy and Projects will apply strategic thinking, creativity and leadership to identify and drive improvement initiatives. This position assists the Director of Global Supply Chain Strategy in the formation of the global footprint and execution strategy to achieve business results.  The Manager will provide assistance with project management governance and execution for localization initiatives, help prepare cost factor analysis and contribute to supply chain site selection, facility construction & start-up oversite, late stage differentiation and supplier capabilities analysis. This position will contribute to the build-out of analytics-based strategic plans, partner in the development of wide range partnership processes and provide actionable decisions.  The Manager of Supply Chain Strategy and Projects will possess a strong understanding of Weber’s business capabilities, supply chain dynamics, customer needs and regulatory impacts.  The ideal candidate will be an ambassador for change in the organization to ensure customer needs are met, business performance is achieved and supply chain ‘what if’ scenarios are explored and thoroughly understood. 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Working in partnership with Director of Global SC Strategy, form plans and execute strategy for the overarching goals and vision of the Global Supply Chain.
  • Cross function collaboration: Finance, Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Procurement, Logistics, and Legal teams.
  • Drive analyses and recommendations to inform the strategy to serve the customer base.
  • Anticipate and identify optimization opportunities to better serve the markets in which Weber competes.
  • Identify and develop metrics to monitor performance and provide the tools both to measure and report performance.
  • Formulate action plans based on overarching strategic direction.
  • Monitor project progress and competition to ensure that strategic goals and benchmarks are met.
  • Lead and support Weber growth initiatives by directly scoping, executing, controlling and closing strategy projects.
  • Deliver data-driven insights to support actionable strategic direction, corporate prioritization, and strategy communication.
  • Analyze industry trends, customer needs, competitive threats, expansion opportunities and internal performance.
  • Support the corporate planning process and ad hoc projects for executives, corporate requests, and special events.
  • Provide a strategic perspective to product and engineering teams, delivering critical business insights and launching initiatives that support the Weber Supply Chain strategy.
  • Coordinate and implement Supply Chain strategies that align with long-term company objectives for growth and cost effectiveness


Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business or a technically related field
  • Minimum 10-15 years’ experience in Manufacturing Operations, Engineering, Purchasing, Supply Chain & Logistics, or a technical position in a high volume manufacturing environment.
  • Must have excellent communication, report-writing, and presentation skills; must also work well with minimal supervision, and be able to consistently meet deadlines.
  • Exceptional presentation and communication skills and ability to distill complex issues into structured frameworks and concrete plans.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and prioritization skills with great attention to detail.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and comfortable with ambiguity.
  • Highly analytical with the ability to consume, process and transform large amounts of information into actionable insights.
