Summary

Reporting to the SVP and GM for the U.S. business, the Sr. Manager of Business Analytics is responsible for leading the development and execution of Weber’s U.S. business analytics strategy. He/she will leverage analytical tools and processes to generate action-oriented insights that drive business growth. The position will develop and execute relevant analytical processes and routines focused on data gathering, database & query development, business analysis, reporting, and insight generation. He/she will work closely U.S. leadership team as a data-driven thought leader to assess business performance and identify new growth opportunities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Define Weber’s business analytics strategy in the U.S. Develop and implement a structured approach to leveraging large and disparate data sets to uncover reliable, fact-based market, customer and consumer insights that drive growth.
  • Partner closely with the Global Consumer Insights & Analytics to team to develop and implement a business intelligence roadmap comprised of people, process and technology that will provide Weber’s U.S. Business with a sustainable competitive advantage.
  • Weigh competing priorities and evaluate opportunities with key business stakeholders to ensure focus on analyses of most relevant data sets to drive strategic business priorities. Manage the pipeline for internal and external business intelligence efforts.
  • Translate unstructured complex business problems into well-defined projects, ensuring we are working to solve the right problem with clear objectives.
  • Create and lead a team of business analysts (and/or data scientists) in the development of models, algorithms, and dashboards to explore and analyze business performance.
  • Lead tool selection, the design of experiments and the development of robust, scalable analytics to arrive at predictive insights.
  • Lead the business intelligence team and other analysts in understanding the basis for various statistical approaches, explore models from different aspects and present insights and recommendations back to business leaders and product-focused teams.
  • Leverage retail and online sales and marketing data to provide insight into Weber’s sales patterns and trends, forecasting, and inventory.
  • Collaborate with business leaders, marketing teams, and sales teams to determine what metrics are critical to growth. Construct predictive models to optimize those metrics.
  • Continuously partner with key business stakeholders to gather feedback, evaluate success and identify opportunities for ongoing improvement.
  • Generate results that have a positive, measurable impact on the bottom line.

Education, Qualifications and/or Experience:

  • Master’s degree in Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Operations Research or a related technical field is required.
  • Possesses a minimum of 8 years’ experience working in a business intelligence/analytics function.
  • Possesses a minimum of 5 years’ experience leading a small team of data scientists and business intelligence analysts.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop solutions using large volumes of data, creating predictive models using advanced machine learning techniques, and using applied statistical analysis such as regression, classification, clustering, and decisions forests.
  • Expert-level ability and experience in business intelligence and visualization toolkits such as Qlik, R, Python, SAS or Tableau, experience with big data platforms, a plus.
  • Problem solving skills including abstract reasoning, cause/effect analysis and innate curiosity.
  • Pro-active, self-starter with ability to organize, prioritize and execute multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Proven ability to build strategic internal and external relationships with the confidence to manage multiple points of view – balancing the needs of both the Weber and the customer.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate into impactful sales results.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and SAP.
