Director, Sales – Home Depot

Summary

The Director of Sales, Home Depot will lead Weber’s relationship with The Home Depot and will be charged with achieving aggressive sales and market share objectives. The position will report directly to the SVP Sales, U.S. Business.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute omni-channel sales strategies to drive aggressive revenue and market share growth; deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual financial targets. 
  • Possess a thorough understanding of the customer P&L and mange the business with a General Manager mindset. 
  • Develop influential relationships with key decision makers and executives at all levels within The Home Depot; develop joint business planning structure and processes.
  • Provide leadership on account service needs to ensure timely execution and follow-up of all activities.
  • Deliver monthly performance and key metric scorecards and provide meaningful insights on customer and market performance.
  • Provide strategic thought leadership to the organization on product development, merchandising, pricing, promotion, and assortment optimization opportunities with the Home Depot.
  • Develop and execute customer-specific digital commerce strategies on HomeDepot.com. Partner closely with Weber’s Digital Commerce team and ensure all programs are fully aligned across customer teams.
  • Identify opportunities to improve supply chain, operations, or product packaging initiatives to support and grow the Home Depot business.
  • Lead, coach, and develop team of sales professionals. Manage the talent management process with an emphasis on building Weber’s sales capabilities; focus on succession planning and developing strong bench talent.
  • Lead the development of presentations for line reviews and business planning meetings.
  • Deliver a unit and dollar sales forecast that will be reviewed and adjusted to deliver item and dollar sales and fill-rate requirements.
  • Negotiate Weber’s annual marketing, advertising support, and volume commitment program. Work closely with Director of Finance to ensure sales and profitability goals are met.
  • Effectively communicate and gain support for Weber’s Minimum Advertised Price (MAP) program.
  • Develop effective product knowledge programs to be executed between Weber’s field sales force and Home Depot associates at store level
  • Participate at Home Depot store walks, events and trainings where applicable.

Education, Qualifications and/or Experience:

  • Four-year college degree from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum of 10+ years sales experience, preferably in consumer products
  • Minimum of 10 years of proven success directly managing regional and national retailers, including experience calling on big-box DIY
  • Strong leadership skills and demonstrated ability to lead sales and business development for a strategic segment of the business
  • Possess strong conflict resolution skills and a demonstrated ability to build relationships and key partnerships
  • Possess strong business and financial acumen
  • Proven success coaching and leading business professionals
  • Proven success developing, presenting, and implementing business plans
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and SAP
  • Highly enthusiastic and hands-on business approach
  • Skilled multi-tasker with a proven ability to manage multiple conflicting priorities
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate into impactful sales results
