Summary

The Global Logistics Manager is accountable for the global logistics network operating performance and management. The Global Logistics Manager will develop operating strategies to optimize global logistics networks related to transportation mode, ocean carrier performance, end to end transportation costs, and transportation lane efficiency. The manager will deliver process improvement solutions delivering value through performance improvements and cost efficiencies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Provide global leadership on transportation network delivering best value for ocean carrier logistics and inland source and destination transportation services.
  • Lead global network optimization process delivering best transportation solutions and value for cost, service, and container utilization
  • Recommend global transportation network support solutions engaging with outside logistic service providers while partnering internally with Global purchasing.
  • Accountable for spend to budget management, on-time carrier consistency performance, and overall transportation service performance levels
  • Create annual productivity goals with active project decks to deliver on productivity value targets
  • Develop mode-specific Procurement Guides reflecting business requirements
  • Lead the implementation of new service providers and/or services
  • Establish KPI’s & corresponding Performance Review process
  • Serve as an escalation point for performance issues
  • Identify and implement service & cost process improvements
  • Communicate potential supply chain disruptions internally & develop alternate flows as needed
  • Communicate/collaborate with Global Logistics, Purchasing, Retailer Services, Supply Chain Finance, Legal, and with internal & external customers,


Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Responsible for managing team of Logistics Analysts

Education and/or Experience

  • BA/BS degree
  • Years of experience : Minimum of 6-9 years of work experience in a similar setting
