Summary: Converts data from specifications and statements of problems to computer code by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serve as Business Intelligence and Data Warehouse Analyst.
  • Gather end-user requirements to perform Functional Analysis, Defining and Building technical solutions using SAP NetWeaver BI and HANA  
  • Subject matter expert on projects related to Content, Processes, Performance, Roadmapping and Procedures as related to Data Warehousing using SAP Net Weaver BI and HANA.
  • Implement solutions in SAP BW with strong experience on the BW Development Lifecycle: Perform code review, prepare documentation for design, unit test, and other required documentation in support of project life cycle methodology
  • Collaborate with Business and Business Relationship Managers and Functional Analytics to translate business and functional needs into technical requirements.
  • Define and configure SAP BI Business content according to business requirements and test configurations.
  • Build prototypes, develop Functional specifications, Data sources, Info packages, Transformations, Data transfer processes, Data store objects, Info cubes, Multicubes, Queries and Web Templates in SAP NetWeaver BI.
  • Conduct end-User training on developing queries and running reports.
  • Design ABAP-based extractors in SAP ECC6 to extract data to SAP BW and build custom data flows from extractors to queries
  • Modify and create BEx queries, user exit variables, calculated and restricted key figures.
  • Knowledgeable about various data extractors in SAP ECC 6.0 ERP system and a working knowledge of various modules within ECC 6.0.
  • Assist with SAP BI security administration and SAP BPC

  • Relevant experience using similar BI/BW tools will be considered but SAP BW, BPC and HANA preferred
  • Strong knowledge of SAP HANA including good hands on working experience in HANA Modelling in SAP HANA environment and SAP BW 7.3
  • Demonstrated development capabilities building complex cubes and reports
  • Experience working with the iSeries DB2 Database will be given preference
  • Must have experience working with BI Reporting tools
  • Good at working with end-users and conversant in business functions such as Sales, finance and Supply Chain
  • Strong knowledge of ABAP-based extractors in SAP ECC6 to extract data to SAP BW and build custom data flows from extractors to queries
  • Strong performance tuning experience: Evaluate SAP BW system performance, performance tune extractors, performance tune BW queries using BW aggregates, BWA, table indexes, BW statistics and compression.
  • Knowledge on Business Objects integration with SAP BW and Reporting tools like Webi and Analysis on Office 2.2 or higher.
  • Experience working with extracting non-SAP data using BODS or any other ETL tools into BW.
  • SAP HANA Modelling Experience- Creation of base views, Calculation views and CDS Views, Data Modelling, SLT Replication and creating SQL Scripts
  • Knowledge on security roles in HANA Environment

Education and/or Experience
  • 7 + years of strong and current SAP NetWeaver BI (3.x or 7.x) experience as BI Analyst, in both BI Reporting and Data Warehousing.
  • 4+ years’ experience in SAP Native HANA Modelling
  • Knowledge of ABAP
  • Knowledge of BW-BPC integration a plus
  • Experience in Data modeling, Data Extraction, Transformation and Data loading within SAP.
  • Experience with non-SAP Data warehouse can also be considered as substitute for SAP Data Warehouse experience.
  • Experience in Manufacturing / Distribution will be preferred.
  • 4-year college degree in relevant field.

    • SAP BPC 10.1 Standard
    • SAP Analytics Cloud/BOBJ/Google Analytics
    • Dynamic tearing experience within HANA environment
    • Predictive Analytics in HANA
