Summary 

The Master Data Lead is accountable for day to day operations for the Material Master Data elements at Weber.  This role will “Own” and be responsible for the governance of the Material Master.  They will have a good understanding of the components in setting up the material master with both upstream and downstream impacts to the Material and setup.  This role will be responsible to monitor field level data quality & aid in establishing metrics and identified controls within the systems of record or multiple domains.  Minimal travel is expected for this job.  

This role will work closely with the MDM team in both a leading role w/the ability to provide hands on support to the team.   

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Strong knowledge of the Material Master setup using SAP.
  • Ability to troubleshoot data issues within the Material Master
  • Assists with the resolution of data integration issues as requested by the business data stewards
  • Responsible for monitoring data quality and standards
  • Investigates and initiates appropriate corrective action when data quality in their span of responsibility does not meet required quality levels
  • Maintains the processes and documents our data corporate data management standards, processes, controls
  • Stays informed of changes in data standards and processes which impact the data and communicates this throughout the team
  • Ability to train the MDM team members on setup, standards and process changes when required
  • Works with the MDM Data Governance manager to leverage the tools & templates used to automate the data entry of master data (Winshuttle)
  • Participates or leads projects related to master data management or business related projects related to Master Data in regards to business changes.
  • Works with the business to manage data obsolesce and archiving requests of data

Education and/or Experience

  • Hands on experience in setting up materials in SAP for Item Master Data Management
  • 3-5 years managing or leading people and/or teams to provide guidance, mentoring and management
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Work experience in SAP material master
  • Experience in working in manufacturing environment helpful with SAP Master Data Add, Changes, Deletes
  • Knowledge of most of the key concepts around key concepts around master data management, data standards and organizations
  • Ability to communicate with the Business Users to explain processes and changes
  • Proficient in MS Excel, Word, Project and Visio required
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Exhibit excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.

  • High degree of initiative, dependability and ability to work with little supervision.
