Senior Financial Analyst, Product Management

Summary
Reporting to the Senior Manager, FP&A the selected candidate will be part of a highly visible Global FP&A team and will work closely with Senior Management, Product Management, and other functional leadership.  

Key responsibilities of the role will include but not limited to contributing to the company’s new product development process, SKU lifecycle management, contributing to the short-term and long-range business forecasts, including the annual company-wide budget and long-range strategic plan, as well as frequent ad hoc analyses to support initiatives such as new product launches, business case analysis, and M&A related activities.  The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of financial concepts, complex financial modeling and will be confident and motivated to effect positive change throughout the organization.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following, other duties may be assigned

  • Supports the end-to-end life-cycle management of a global, complex product portfolio including gas grills, grilling accessories, replacement parts, and advanced concepts.
  • Partners with Product Management, Engineering, R&D and Commercial from a financial perspective to bring to market new products by managing the development of business cases and financial models for a robust new product development pipeline.
  • Acts as a business partner to Product Management and other functional leaders to enhance the understanding and analysis of financial concepts and business trends.
  • Analyzes financial results, trends, and metrics related to the company’s product portfolio and works with Product Management to drive results and performance.
  • Communicates key variances, impacts, and drivers in regards to the product portfolio to Senior Management and other key stakeholders.
  • Provides ad hoc analysis to the Senior Manager, FP&A and also participates in special cross-functional projects as needed.

  • Must have advanced knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience in consolidation tools are a plus and previous experience with SAP preferred.
  • Proficient in business analytics and financial modeling.
  • Working knowledge of GAAP reporting rules and regulations.
  • Critical thinking skills and the ability to challenge the status quo for the good of the organization are required.
  • Requires strong communication skills, both orally and written.
  • Ability to cultivate and maintain positive relationships with all levels of management.
  • Ability to work late nights and weekends during certain times of the year when key deliverable are due.

Education and/or Experience                                                  

  • BS/BA in finance, accounting, or economics.
  • Years of experience : Minimum of five years of work experience in a similar setting
  • MBA or other equivalent advanced degree preferred
