Summary

Responsible for directing warehouse employees in department, including adherence to work schedule and assignment; employee training; evaluating staffing requirements, administrating safety, communication, teambuilding, efficiency discipline, vacation scheduling, etc..

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following, other duties may be assigned

  • Develop a strong working relationship with the clerical staff to ensure timely and consistent communication and understanding of both the receiving and shipping department concerns.
  • Develop a strong working relationship with the warehouse team at all levels to ensure timely and consistent communication and understanding of both floor issues
  • Ability to handle responsibilities effectively and interface with internal and external customers
  • Direct the development and implementation of activities in warehouse areas to meet goals, quality and cost objectives
  • Keep management team informed of all pertinent information and developments
  • Responsible for ensuring all employees adhere to Company policies, practices and safety guidelines
  • Ability to adjust to the changing needs of a fast-pace warehouse environment
  • Initiate with management disciplinary action when warranted
  • Provide input for employee performance evaluations
  • Keep track of tools and equipment that are needed to pick/ship orders and ensure they are in good working order
  • Ensure all preventative maintenance is performed on all equipment and tools as required
  • Ensure orders are picked/shipped accurately
  • Ensure products are shipped on time
  • Active with troubleshooting and continual improvement of process
  • Foster employee empowerment and lean thinking
  • Recommend and distribute overtime per company policy
  • Generate and enforce rotation schedule.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Ability to lead up to 10-15 people in a fast paced manufacturing/office environment required.

Education and/or Experience High School Diploma or equivalent, plus 2-5 years’ experience in fast pace manufacturing or distribution environment.

Language Skills Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.

Mathematical Skills Basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division)
