Sourcing Manager of Outside Services and Technology will lead the Sourcing responsibilities all phases of sourcing of products and services, while partnering with stakeholders and senior management to pursue opportunities for contractual negotiations with vendors for Consulting, Legal, Sub-contractor, Temp Labor, Software and IT Consulting.  Spend under management is >$40M.  Work collaboratively across the organization to set priorities for cost reduction; develop operational and strategic initiatives with Stakeholders; and implement sourcing and contracting strategies. The has required skills necessary to identify value opportunities, create competitive environments, negotiate and develop contractual documents to assure timely and seamless availability of products and services to meet the company's objectives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop appropriate sourcing strategies, evaluate and select prospective suppliers, and negotiate agreements that deliver best-in-class value to the organization
  • Collaborates with Stakeholders evaluating supplier core competencies. Oversee the supplier selection and negotiation process, in the resolution of major customer satisfaction and vendor performance issues. Lead supplier negotiations
  • Develop RFI’s, RFP’s and manage contracting (assisting in the reading, negotiation and modification of large enterprise contracts and service level agreements), supplier negotiations, and the contractual aspects of supplier relationships
  • Analyzing stakeholder needs and preferences and validating the service offering provided in supplier responses match the stakeholder needs
  • This includes evaluating information gathered from multiple sources, reconciling conflicts, and distinguishing user requests from underlying true needs.
  • Supplier Performance Management measuring service levels, quality requirements and value
  • Communicate progress relative to goals of Supply Chain and Enterprise
  • Work cross functionally with Stakeholders to identify and implement continuous improvement projects including alternate sources, business flow process, supplier and service consolidation that takes advantage of economies of scale to maximize savings, while maintaining or exceeding Stakeholders service level requirements
  • Evaluate global supply chain abilities to support ad-hoc or un-forecasted demand changes
  • Conducting research activities to produce detailed reports related to competitive markets, sourcing strategies, cost savings opportunities and benchmarking
  • Monitoring industry trends and trade publications
  • Assisting in the development and execution of Stakeholder strategies
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationship with suppliers
  • Develop, foster and enhance multi-departmental relationship(s) between Weber - Stephen Products and key suppliers

Education and/or Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or a technically related field, Master’s Degree preferred
  • Successful 7-10 year track record in a global sourcing organization
  • Strong understanding and background in Marketing with experience supporting brand teams during various stages of the marketing process, including needs assessment, product launch, agency support and media acquisition
Language Skills      
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Mathematical Skills:
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.  Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
