BI Reporting Analyst will be required to work closely with the IT Business Partners, IT applications team and Business users to help define reporting requirements to solve business issues.  They will be required to learn about the systems in order to analyze the data as well as to validate the data and reports, including calculations.   This role will also leverage various SAP BI tools to create reports and dashboards for the business as well as   provide support and training to the business.  This role will cover global systems and projects and utilize SAP, Microsoft and other analytics and reporting tools. The analyst may assist with system updates, enhancements and implementations. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following, other duties may be assigned

  • Work closely with the Analytics Team, Business Partners and Applications Team on projects and requirements from the business
  • Develop and test new reports based on the user requirements
  • Provide support through data validation on newly developed or supported reports
  • Learn new technology to support the strategy
  • Provide analysis of the data required for analytic requests from the business to define where the data is located.  Develop the requirements / calculations of data required.
  • Test new reporting requests
  • Train the business users on new report and technologies
  • Enforces organizational standards relative to system enhancements, changes, issues and problems.
  • Create and maintain technical and/or functional documentation to assist SAP BW developers and business users in designing & effectively/efficiently utilizing the solutions developed.  
  • Executes use cases, test plans, test cases and test scripts to ensure system changes are aligned with business requirements
  • Provides knowledge transfer/support to business users

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor in Data Analytics; Statistics, Information Technology.  A minor in Finance or Accounting is preferred.  Six months to one year related experience and/or training around Data Analytic tools and analysis.

Language Skills      
Ability to read and interpret business data for analytics.  Ability to write requirements and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively and communication with the business users in a non-technical way.

Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.  Use of Excel is helpful

Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Other Skills and Abilities

Data Analytics

  • Ability to understand business data and provide validation and analysis of the data
  • Exposure or understanding of general business processes.  Financial processes are helpful

General Skills and knowledge:

  • Good skills Microsoft Word, and Excel
