Summary

 Manufacturing Engineer needed to provide technical support to production, introduce processes for new products, and execute capital projects.  This position will support and interact with fabrication, coating, and assembly operations.

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following, other duties may be assigned

 Provide technical engineering support to production processes to resolve safety, quality, and operational issues.

  • Ensure that manufacturing processes represent the most competitive cost alternative while maintaining acceptable quality levels.
  • Implement Lean Manufacturing continuous improvement strategies within Manufacturing Operations to improve efficiencies and reduce cost.
  • Develop, justify, and support strategic capital projects.
  • Drive outside organizations to meet project goals and objectives.
  • Ensures effective development of product cost structures and standards.
  • Provides oversight for the successful introduction of new products into Operations through concurrent engineering of new manufacturing technologies and methods.
  • Maintains Engineering performance metrics to identify opportunities for measurable improvements.

  •  Working Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, and Six Sigma principles is required as well as direct experience with facility layout, process design, FMEA, DFA, SPC, and DOE.
  • The candidate should have knowledge of metal fabrication, welding, finishing, and packaging processes.
  • Ability to communicate at all levels from the shop floor to Executive level in order to justify strategies and implement them effectively.
  • Is an effective problem solver, with ability to utilize analytical techniques to resolve conceptual issues. 
  • Is able to make a paradigm shift in approach to developing creative solutions that will result in technology that can provide a technological edge over competition.

Supervisory Responsibilities

 This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

 Education and/or Experience

  •  Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering or Industrial Engineering.
  • 3+ years of Manufacturing Engineering experience preferably in an appliance industry.
  • Experience with Microsoft office, AutoCAD, and Solidworks or equivalent.
  • Experience and understanding of MRP systems a plus.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

 Professional Engineering License a plus

 Other Skills and Abilities

  •  Skilled in AutoCad, Solidworks, and MS Office
  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing
  • Experience with Time Study techniques
  • Experience with DFA, FMEA, DOE and Six Sigma tools
  • General knowledge of PLC’s controls, sensors and fixtures
  • Strong Mechanical aptitude – machining, stamping, welding, assembly, and molding processes
  • Experience with assembly tools and equipment
  • Ability to work well under compressed time constraints
  • Hands on approach to problem resolution
  • Experience with New product process development
  • Experience with JMP or Minitab a plus
  • Experience with Fanuc Robotics a plus
