Summary
Provide leadership for internally and externally driven industrial design activities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following, other duties may be assigned

  • Supports all industrial design activities for the Weber business through leadership of internal and external resources.
  • Develops internal talent strategic external partnerships.
  • Contributes to creation of strategic plans to guide resource allocation and expansion as the business grows.
  • Leads the development of a documented VBL and supports ongoing refinements.
  • Leads direct reports and assigned resources for the successful creation of designs that meet the defined criteria.
  • Manages prioritization of activities insuring programs are resourced appropriately and that commitments are met.
  • Develops and manages design specifications and insures that requirements are met throughout the design process and any exception are clearly communicated and managed.
  • Creates and manages budgets for internal and external work.
  • Provides hands-on design support when needed.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • This position will expand to have direct reports and has significant indirect leadership requirements.

Education and/or Experience                                                  

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in progressive design and design leadership roles with strong product development background. Proven leadership relating to the creation and support of VBL materials.
  • Bachelor’s degree (Industrial Design degree required)

Language Skills                                                     

  • English fluency is required; other language skills are desirable but not required.

Reasoning Ability                                                

  • Above average problem solving and decision making skills are required. Must be capable of articulating the decision process and leading others through clear problem solving exercises.

Computer Skills                                                    

  • CAD experience is required.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • None required. Professional organization affiliation is a benefit.

Other Skills and Abilities                                               

  • Superior teamwork and motivational skills are required.
