Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exceeded my expectations! I bought the Q1000 at a friend's recommendation and couldn't be happier with it. Didn't need the shelves because I use a cart to set the grill on. What has sold me on this little grill is the "D" shaped burner. Most others have a single as did my other Weber portable, and this D-shaped performs at a professional level. The grates are awesome because they have a built in burner guard and clean up is easy. I use an adapter hose and 20# LP tank instead of those little 1# bottles, which I think improves the performance. My only complaint is Weber didn't put a built in thermometer in the lid. Other models have this so I'll add one later.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quite Handy and Cost Effective We've always used large Weber charcoal grills (past 50+ years), but, considering the cost of Kingsford charcoal these days, decided to try this Q1000 for quick burgers and steaks. We purchased the adapter / extension hose, to accommodate full size propane tanks; (more cost effective than the small, green portable cans.) So far, so good, thank you Weber for keeping up the QC ... and 'Made in America.'

Rated 5 out of 5 by from fantastic little grill I've had its bigger brother, the 3000, for a year and love it. I bought the 1000 to replace a small charcoal grill that we had at our in-town house where we have limited room. It is almost as good. I cook veggies and meat on it and recently tried pizzas. The pizza was trickier because the heat capacity is a bit too low. Need a pizza stone to even out the heat and cook without burning. With that, I can do anything in it that I can do in the 3000 (as long as it fits on the smaller surface). I did get the hookup for a larger propane tank since I use it often and don't use it as a portable.
