b) Weber ID

On our web page you can create a Weber ID free of charge. The Weber ID features a central customer account where all your data is collected in one place in order to constantly improve your experience of the Weber world and to tailor it to your specific interests. This will give you access to exclusive contents of the web page (recipes, tips and tricks, etc.), you can register your grill/grills, receive all important information (warranty periods, operating instructions, etc.) and have central access to all data and services Weber-Stephen has on offer for you. You can also easily log into our shop at any time to check your order status or place additional orders without having to register again. A Weber ID will also allow you to use features such as notepad and wish list.

In addition, the Weber ID is used to provide registered users with a personalized and customized web page experience. Accordingly, the user behavior of registered users is collected and analyzed. The following additional data is collected, stored and analyzed:

c) Use of offers / shopping at Weber-Stephen

We will only collect personal data if it is voluntarily provided to us during the ordering process or when registering a Weber ID. After contract completion, your data will be blocked and deleted after expiration of legal, particularly tax and commercial law regulations, unless you have explicitly consented to further use of data or a further processing is lawful and legitimate.

If you would like to purchase something in our shop, you will need to specify your data required for processing of your order which is necessary for the conclusion and implementation of the contract. Required information for contract processing are marked separately, further information is optional. For contract processing the address details are disclosed to the assigned forwarding agent or shipping company. The legal basis for contract processing is Art. 6 (1) Sentence 1 lit. b) GDPR.

The following data will be processed:

  • Name, delivery address, billing address, payment details, email address;
  • Telephone number, in the case of delivery by a forwarding agent;

aa) Guest order

For order processing we will process the data provided by you. For this purpose we may disclose your payment details to our house bank or other payment service providers. The legal basis for this is Article 6 (1) Sentence 1 lit. b) GDPR.

bb) Order via Weber ID

You may also lodge your required details for processing the order in your Weber ID user account. When purchasing via your Weber ID, data is processed in addition to the order data to create an order history. You will find further information on this in this privacy policy under “Weber ID”.

cc) Grill Academy registration

Please note that currently the booking of Weber Grill Academy courses can only be done with a Weber ID. Booking information on Weber Grill Academies will be disclosed to authorize Weber Grill Academy providers for contract processing. For registration at the Grill-Akademie we use the plugin bookingkit from bookingkit GmbH, Sonnenallee 223, 12059 Berlin. If one of our pages with bookingkit functions is accessed, a connection to bookingkit servers is established. 4. Use of data/newsletter for promotional use

Your data will only be used for promotional use with your explicit prior consent. We will use your data to introduce new products and events from the grill sector associated with Weber-Stephen that are tailored to your interests. This includes information on current or future range of products (e.g. grills, attachments, accessories, consumables, lifestyle) as well as functions and events with participation of Weber-Stephen (e.g. Grill Academy, seminars, trade fairs, one-off functions). This includes both digital advertising via email and print media.

You can use the Double Opt-in feature to subscribe to our email newsletter. After registration we will send you an email to the specified email address asking you to confirm that you wish to receive the newsletter. This is done by clicking on an included hyperlink. If the confirmation by hyperlink is not given within a period of 24 hours, your information will be blocked and deleted after one month. We are also entitled to keep your IP addresses, and times of registration and confirmation times in order to verify your registration and to appropriately clarify any possible misuse of your personal data. 5. Contact form/email inquiries

a) Our contact form is designed so you can easily contact us. We will need your name and email address to process and assign your inquiries. At the end of the year we will delete solely informative inquiries after processing, i.e. which do not result in a contract or do not contain any other content that needs to be retained. Depending on the content of your inquiry, the data provided in the contact form will be processed based on your (presumed) consent pursuant to Art. 6 (1) Sentence 1 lit. a) GDPR or pursuant to Art. 6 (1) sentence 1 lit. b) GDPR, for existing contractual performance obligations or the implementation of pre-contractual measures. Weber-Stephen Products (EMEA) GmbH and Weber-Stephen Products LLC have access to all data processed in this context. We use the Zendesk ticket system, a platform of Zendesk Inc, 1019 Market Street, San Francisco, CA 94103, using a data center located in the EU, to process customer claims and inquiries by e-mail and via the contact forms. 6. Processors and recipients of data

In some cases, we use external service providers for data processing; these are bound by our instructions. We have carefully selected and commissioned these and are regularly monitoring their performance. Commissioning is based on data processing agreements in accordance with Art. 28 GDPR. The contract processors will not independently process any data for their own purposes.

To implement the contract associated with purchases on, your data will be disclosed to service providers supporting us (such as shipping companies, Grill Academy partners), and whom we have obviously carefully selected.

To operate this website, we use a hosting provider to process inventory data, contact data, content data, contract data, usage data, meta and communication data of our website visitors or customers, on our behalf and based on our legitimate interests in an efficient and secure provision of this website pursuant to Art. 6 (1) Sentence 1 lit. f), 28 GDPR.

For the administration of our customer data, barbecue registrations, newsletter and Weber-ID registrations, we use technical service providers who are also contractually bound from contract processors according to Art. 28 GDPR. The legal basis in this respect is Art. 6 Para. 1 S.1 lit. a), b) and f).  

Some of those service partners are situated outside of the European Union (EU) or European Economic Area (EEA).Where access to data is made available to Weber-Stephen Products LLC,  or external service providers situated in countries outside of the EU or EEA which do not offer an adequate level of data protection, the transmission of data outside of the EU or EEA is protected by standard contractual clauses according to Art 46 (2) lit. c) GDPR ("EU model clauses"); you may obtain a copy of such agreements at .

7. Retention periods

We will delete data processed by us or restrict processing in compliance with the statutory provisions, in particular in accordance with Articles 17 and 18 GDPR. Unless explicitly stated in this privacy policy, we will delete stored data as soon as it is no longer required for its intended purpose. Data will only be kept after no longer being of purpose, if this is required for other and legally permissible purposes or if the data must be retained due to statutory retention obligations. In these cases, processing is restricted, viz. blocked and not processed for other purposes.
