John Burns

Marketing Associate, Online Consumer Care

My favorite grill is my Genesis Silver B made in 2000. It’s a little beat up after 16 years, but works like a champ!

WHO YOU ARE AND WHAT YOU DO FOR WEBER?

I'm a Marketing Associate on our Online Consumer Care team. I work on answering questions from customers that come in through email and social media, as well as providing technical and systems support to our US, Mexican and Latin American customer service teams.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE WEBER PRODUCT?

I have two 22.5” Charcoal Kettles, and a Smokey Joe, but my favorite grill is my Genesis Silver B made in 2000. It’s a little beat up after 16 years, but works like a champ!

FAVORITE THING TO GRILL?

Caribbean Jerk Hanging Tenders. I like to cut them up and make carne asada tacos out of them.

CHARCOAL OR GAS?

I don’t like to limit my options. I love both! It really boils down to what I’m planning on grilling.

WHAT'S YOUR BEST GRILLING ADVICE IN ONE SENTENCE?

Don’t overthink it. Grilling is supposed to be fun. If you’re not having fun, you aren’t doing it right.

HOW DID YOU GET STARTED WITH GRILLING?

I grew up with my father grilling on a Genesis Jr, and my family always had Weber kettles at all of our huge family parties where my uncles would cook pound after pound of arrechera (Mexican skirt steak). When I was in high school I found a 22.5” Weber kettle for $2 at a local rummage sale and have been hooked ever since!
