  • 1 kilogram blade steak, cut into 3 to 4cm chunks
  • Salt
  • Freshly ground black pepper
  • ¾ cup unsalted peanuts
  • 1½ milliliter cans (600ml) coconut cream, divided
  • 6 tablespoons massaman curry paste
  • 500 grams potatoes, peeled, cut into 2 to 3cm chunks
  • 125 milliliters water
  • 2 medium onions, cut into thin wedges
  • 6 kaffir lime leaves
  • 1½ cinnamon sticks
  • 1½ tablespoon tamarind paste
  • 1½ tablespoon palm or coconut sugar
