Rated 1 out of 5 by Union man II from Weber Grill light 7516 I Purchased a new Weber Grill after 28 years with my old one splurged and got the handle light for it couple of months later. Four months later had to call Weber to have them to replace the light because it was not working anymore. They sent me a new one to replace it. I received the new one and installed it on my grill making double sure that I followed the directions to the letter. Three months later that one had filled up with water and shorted out and would not work. Weber has a good design but needs to come up with some way to keep it from getting water inside of it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Packwest56 from Bad Design I bought this item less than a year ago and was pleased initially with the performance of ease and lighting. I keep my gas grill covered and somehow moisture got in the light. I tried to dry it out and replaced the batteries. All I got was a slight glow at first and then nothing. I've been a Weber customer for quite a long time and have both charcoal and gas grills now. On about my fifth charcoal and second gas. I have always been pleased with the Weber customer service and products. This does not meet my expectations. This is the second Weber brand handle light I have owned the first one was disappointing as well so I thought I would try the different designed one.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Fred W from A real disappointment. Not rain tight! I've had one season of use from this light where it worked well. It wasn't immediately apparent, but during a light rain the light slowly filled with water then died. My grill is always covered when not in use. After a few days drying time the light started to work again, but the led is ruined. It glows but only just barely and doesn't produce usable light.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Gregor from Not Weather Proof I bought this light and it didn't even last 6 months before water got inside the housing and ruined the switch. My Genesis II sits outside but remains covered whenever not in use. By the time I pay for a second grill light I probably could have purchased and installed a new flood light.

Rated 1 out of 5 by SKSK from Inoperative - Brand new out of a sealed package. I purchased this light for my 4-burner Genesis. Sometimes I get caught grilling past sundown. Figured this little light would come in handy for those situations. Brand new out of the box with the supplied batteries, it won’t turn on. Even with different verified fresh alkaline AAA batteries and observing correct polarity - no joy. Switch is also a dud. Nothing happens when you press it. Very poor quality for a product that bears the Weber name!

Rated 1 out of 5 by fordman-21 from Weber grill light 7516 -- Won't turn off! I purchased a Weber Genesis grill several years back and have been completely satisfied. In December 2016 I decided to add the Weber grill light. It was at the time the perfect addition for grilling after dark. After about 6-7 months the light wouldn't turn off and would drain the batteries. Upon further investigation I noticed moisture in the housing. My grill is covered when not in use so what rain it has seen is minimal. I have read the reviews and see that I am not the only one that has experienced this problem. I love my Weber grill but the light not so much.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Big Daddy Bill from Worse Weber purchase ever! I've owned several Weber grills over the years, and I typically buy Weber accessories because I expect quality products. I bought the light at a new OSH store in Oregon, and I had high hopes for night time grilling. It was easy enough to put together on the grill handle, but it never wanted to work right. It turned on when I closed the lid, and back off when I opened it. I moved it around the handle and tried several locations and angles, but it would never do what it was supposed to do. Very disappointing, especially for the cost.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Edo K from After changing batteries- light flickers until dis I bought this light from Home Depot about 2 months ago. Worked great on my Weber Genesis grill- until batteries discharged. After the batteries were replaced, light starts flickering immediately and doesn’t stop !!! Changed different pack of batteries, all new from the box and same thing happens. They keep flickering until they are exhausted. Very disappointed, if I had original box and receipt i would take it back for exchange or refund. This product would get higher rating than 3 if it continued to work as designed after the battery replacement.

Rated 1 out of 5 by JT38 from Disappointing This a really a terrible product. Disappointing to see something so poor product by Weber. The light is very difficult to put together and they somehow found a way to make something as simple as changing to the batteries very difficult. The light functions, but the quality of the LED is poor and the switch, if it is meant to be a switch and not simply a sensor, doesn't work. If it's just supposed to be a sensor, this is also a terrible idea because you have no control over when it's on/off. It's merely a function of what direction the light is pointing.

Rated 1 out of 5 by TechniKal from Really bad design The design of the light is really bad in terms of waterproofing. With the light in position and the grill closed, the natural path for water to flow is down into the battery compartment. They try to address this with a small rubber gasket, but it's too small and will eventually fail. It's like someone put the roof shingles on backwards and tried to prevent leaks by sticking rubber bands under them. It's a shame as the concept is good and the light is bright. Hopefully Weber gets tired of constantly replacing these and fixes the design

Rated 1 out of 5 by John W. from Defective AGAIN Bought one of these 2 years ago. Water seeped into the light and destroyed it within one year. Weber replaced it after a phone call to customer service. The new one has now died for the same reason, water seeping into the light. Will have to call Weber again I suppose. I wish they would fix the design fault that makes these leak.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Kori from Never worked I ordered a brand new 2019 genesis SE 335 grill. I received the grill today and the light does not work at all. So it looks terrible on the handle for style but I thought I can ignore that because having a grill light will be fantastic. I dont have a grill light. I just have a plastic box screwed to my grill handle. I hope I can find a grill light to buy but for spending over $1000 on my first weber, I was hoping that everything was quality. I purchased the SE for the 9mm stainless bars. The grill looks ok and I am just hoping to be more impressed than this first impression of the brand.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Nick75 from Disappointed! Purchased a brand new Genesis II grill for my son. Grill has a handle light on it, so, I decided to buy one of these LED grill handle lights for my own Weber Genesis grill. Installed the light on the handle and tried it out last night, two days after purchasing. Nothing happened. Opened the grill cover and no light came on. Took the light apart again and placed new batteries in it (the LED light came with its own batteries). Still no light. Will now be bringing this back to the store where I bought it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by jay dub from Not weatherproof My Summit Grill Center came with two of these. Even though I keep my grill covered, somehow water got on one of these lights and waterlogged it irreparably. One light still works very well and is four years old, so I figure three stars is fair. Another problem is that they have changed the design, so I can have mismatched lights or buy two new ones, and based on these reviews I will pass.

Rated 1 out of 5 by rcdrape from water inside purchased this light apx 2 1/2 years ago. worked great. bought one for my son and son inlaw. mine died this summer, it had filled with water and broke the light bulb. bought a replacement and in 3 months it filled with water again and the light inside was broken. i also noticed the casing had warped from heat and lifted the lens cover up which probably broke the seal but there was also mold around rubber button. not sure what happend but i think it should have lasted longer 3 months.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Giddy1204 from Broke in less than 3 months Bought this light when I got my grill, always had a waterproof cover of the entire grill when not in use. Worked great until one day when it started sprinkling very lightly. The grill was luckily just cool enough to put the cover on, put the cover on with only a slight amount of rain having fallen on the grill. Waited out the storm, wiped the grill down after and put the cover back on. Fast forward to 10 days later: take of the cover, fire up the grill at about 8:30 pm and the grill light is very dim. Checked the light, and it looks like moisture had gotten into the bulb enclosure and got moldy. The light was a fraction of what it normally put out, and then stopped completely after a couple minutes. Total disappointment after only a couple months and a very light misting. Expected much more from this light.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Grillin' Like a Villain from melted... again I finally purchased a genesis e-310 about a year and a half ago. Love, love, love the grill, but can't see what I'm cooking at night. Found this light and jumped on it. Install wasn't bad and worked as advertised... for about a year. There was some melted plastic, but it still mostly worked. I got caught in a surprise storm and didn't get the cover on before everything was wet. The deformity around the gasket/seal allowed the light to fill with rain water and stop working. I chalked this up to my own negligence and bought a second one. Unfortunately, this one seriously melted in just a few months. I once again left the grill uncovered in a storm and said goodbye to another light. As much as I loved the lights when working, I can't keep buying them if they're not going to last as long as the batteries installed in them.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Randy B from Not Weather Resistant Bought my unit last Summer. When I checked it after the Winter (Grill was covered but kept outside) the light was full of water. Tried to dry it out but it was burnt out. Poorly designed for wet weather areas. How about changing the design to include a gasket to make it weather tight?

Rated 1 out of 5 by Miket66 from Grill light is NFG! I bought the light as a needed item. It doesn’t work. Tried new batteries. I think the switch failed within one month of purchase. Don’t waste your money. Buy a good flashlight to keep near grill it’s a lot cheaper.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Crosenthal from Same as others -- not waterproof -- SHAMEFUL!!! Like the other posts here, I installed this and had it die within about a year as it got water damaged. NOT HAPPY --- DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT until Weber has confirmed they have fixed this design flaw!

Rated 1 out of 5 by DanNE from Design flae I have had a Weber grill light for several years on a 9 yr old spirit three burner. It has worked great throughout all seasons in New England. I bought a light for another spirit three burner which is 8 years old. The new light does not fit around the old style grill handle and cannot be used. I returned it the next day. Weber should have kept the older very reliable light or at least make it available for older grills

Rated 1 out of 5 by joecountry from Not Weatherproof Great light in the beginning, very bright covered entire grilling surfqace on my Genesis, until it rained. After a few days of steady rain showers, the light did not work, took it off and found it to be full of water. Very disappointing as I expected better quality from Weber. I see other posters claiming same thing, so I will not be purchaing again until they have a design change and actually make it water tight.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Smokemaster from Not watertight I bought this light several months ago and was very satisfied with it. However, we had a light rain the other night. I had grilled that evening and didn't cover the grill before going to bed. Today, the light did not work at all. I removed it from the handle and dried it out. I replaced the batteries which were soaked. Still no benefit. I suspect water damaged the circuitry or the LED.

Rated 1 out of 5 by karasdad from Worked great for about 45 days I was looking for an alternative to a flashlight and this seemed like just the thing. Plus I didn't have to hold it. Unfortunately here in Seattle it rains and the rubber ring seal didn't provide any sealing for the batteries and electronics. It filled with water and failed. Back to the flashlight. Don't waste your money. The design is flawed.

Rated 1 out of 5 by jos D from consistently bad I bought one of these I think on Amazon a few years ago. after 2 years, it stopped working. silly me, I bought another one exactly like my old one, only this time from weber, figuring it was just bad luck, and I liked the design. This latest one, I bought last fall. it worked through the fall and winter ok, and I didn't turn it on over the summer. Now I need it, and this second light won't work!. I took it apart, and water dripped out as I unscrewed it. battery compartment was all corroded. I cover my grill after EVERY use, and rarely grill in the rain. this is a shame, as I've been very happy with webers grills(my first weber I had 20 yrs and I gave it to my son who still uses it now, while I am happy with my 2 year old genesis. too bad these lights are horrible.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Scott Decker from Does not seal properly. Leaks within a few weeks. Bought this product for the first time about last year with my Webber grill. After a bought a month water started to leak into the unit and it stopped working. Since it was slightly complicated to put together I assumed I didn't do it correctly and this spring I bought another to replace it. Same thing happened once again. The unit does not seal at all and now I see this is a recurring issue after looking at the reviews. Unfortunately this product doesn't love up the the high quality standards for other Webber products.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Love4FFC from Great light This came with my Summit grill. Have been using it now for about 4 months. As others have pointed out it can be difficult to turn on as I find I have to hit the button several times. Once on it works great. Turns on when grill lid is open and shuts off automatically when lid is closed. Light has some type of timer as after awhile if the lid has not been open it will no longer automatically turn on. I keep the grill covered and for the most part under a covered roof so have not experienced it in a wet situation.
