Rated 1 out of 5 by from enamel sprayed grates - not enamel coated grates I purchased the Spirtit 200, and it works great. Unfortunately, the grates rust easily as they are only sprayed and not coated enamel. I had a genesis II before, and had purchased enamel coated that lasted the entire life of the grill. Weber needs to do the same for the Spirit. Maybe this is an effort to sell more replacement grates.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Spirit 210 cooking grates We use our grill often, and have already had one set of replacement grates. I really wish you would make them in Stainless Steel. They rusted so quickly. I do not want to purchase a larger grill just to get Stainless Steel grates. The size of this grill is ideal for us. Please consider making the grates in Stainless, even if I had to purchase them additionally. I need to replace ours again and do not want to spend the money on these that will just rust again.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Rusty Grates After 4 years of light use (once a week, 9 months a year), the rust on the cooking grates has become intolerable, despite wire brushing each time I heat the grill. I can't find stainless steel replacement grates of the proper size (as I did with my previous Weber Genesis grill). Would you reach out to me too by e-mail with your suggestions? Thanks.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great grill... but grates didn’t last. I’ve had my Spirt E210 for a couple years. Never had a problem until recently when the grate and Flavorizer bars started to go bad. Now looking to replace them.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from rusted out grates I've had the spirit E210 since early 2015. in spite of using it about 2-3 times a month only, cleaning after every use, and always using the cover, the grates are a rusty mess. The last dinner i made on it ended up in the trash, after every bite resulted in the terrible crunch of metal on the teeth. Ive never had this problem with any of the 4 or so other grilles i've owned in my life. Based on the reviews here, it looks like this product is essentially defective and Weber isn't going to offer an alternative. I switched to Weber with this grille and am now trying to decide if it's just more cost effective to buy a whole new different brand of grille vs. buying new grates every 4 years.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from cooking grate i should not have rust on my grates. this is one of the best grills you can buy. WEBER what is happening to your quality.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Rusting and Chipping These grates are a year old - bought them to kick off Summer 2018. Now, coming up on our annual July 4 cookout, and we need new ones! This is crazy. Tonight, I cooked on the left side of the grill because it looks a little better than this, but...

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Lousy grates Like most of the reviews the only complaint I have is the grilles are rusting away. While I only have the Spirit and not one of the higher end Weber’s I expected better performance. I’ve always cleaned and kept the unit covered. No excuse for the grilles to fall apart while cleaning them other than poor quality. All the companies answers indicate you will direct reviewers to a resolution, if that’s does not include sending me new grilles at your expense, don’t bother answering this review.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Cooking grates leave alot to be desired I bought my Weber 210 about 5 years ago everything works great except the grates I used them flat side heated the grill up to 450 to 500 degrees sprayed weber grill spray and still had problems with my food sticking to the grates . Does Weber make stainless steel grates for my grill ? the grates measure 17.5 x 10.2 x 05 .Thank you

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Grates get rusty My Weber grill is about 5 years old and the coating is flaking off the grates on to the food and the grates rust in those areas. I know it's about 5 years old, but in Washington State we don't use it much in the winter so it hasn't had that much use.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Grates I love Weber products, however not sure why these grates do not last. I keep them brushed, clean them with a putty knife, burn the excess off at the end of grilling and they do not seem to last more than 4 years.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Less then 2 years I bought replacement grates in Jan 2017 and they are already rusting through. The grill is covered every night and gets used 2-3 times per week. Hard to keep spending $60 on grates less then 2 years each time.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Rusty grates! Had this Weber Spirit about 3 years now and the grates are rusting away. I keep it covered always when not in use. Big flakes of rust are falling off the grates. Not sure if I want to buy more grates or not!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Cooking grates Bought this Weber grill perfect size for just me and my wife but the cooking grates do not clean easy and are starting to rust. I wish we had true stainless steel that worked and lasted for a longer time

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Rust. Rust. Rust. LOVE the grill, but the plates rust despite cleaning after each use. The grill gets light use and the size is perfect for what we need, but the quality of the grates on the grill is very disappointing.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from One drawback The grates of the S210 grill has what I will call a "crossbar" . Each grate has two bars going across the width of the grate. This crossbars are slightly higher than the rest of the grate which makes it hard to slide a spatula under your food. I am looking for a suitably replacement..

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor quality grates and flavor bars. I brought my stainless spirit 200 grill 4 years ago. These grates and flavor bars rusted out in six months time. I have Webber send me 2 sets and i've replaced grates and flavor bars every six months.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Rust. Like the majority of the other reviewers on here I too have rusted grates and "flavoriser bars" I have cleaned my grill once a month, and still have rust. Very unhappy with the parts quality.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from very good Weber makes the best grills, parts, etc. on the market for a reasonable price. HOWEVER - only buy their products at the hardware store, Amazon, etc. working with them directly is a disaster.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Gates have rusted out on Spirit S-210 (212) I have owned several Weber grills and have never owned one that the grates have rusted out so badly. I am afraid to order a new set of grates because you fo not offer stainless steel.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointed I am really looking for a stainless steel option versus the cast iron, but Weber does not make an option for my grill. I would only recommend these, because they are the only option.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Cooking grates rusted I purchased the Weber Spirit 2 summers ago, used often and covered after every use. The grates are rusted and unusable. I had been told Weber had the best grill but I don’t agree.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Grill grate failure I bought this grill in Sept of 2017, and the grill grates are rusting so badly that flakes of cast iron are coming off with the food. They are unusable now for cooking.
Date published: 2019-06-23
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Grates rusted in 3 years I upgraded to the Spirit 200 Stainless option, but didn't receive stainless grates. Apparently nobody makes them for this model. Budget for grates every 3-years.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Rust!!!! I have had a Spirit E-210 for several years. The grates started rusting so I replaced them in 2017. After mild use, they are rusted again. Unacceptable.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Rusted grates The grates rust too fast on my Spirit grill and it’s expensive to be replacing. Stainless Steel would be a much better option, please consider changing.
Date published: 2019-05-04
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Don’t last This is my second set of grates for my spirit grill that have rusted. This set lasted lass than 3 years. Rust is flaking off on food and not usable.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Rusty grates I bought this grill thinking I would be set for at least 10 years as Webber has an outstanding reputation as the best. My grates were replaced under warranty two years ago and have already rusted and flaked badly. It cannot be safe to eat food that possibly has chunks of rust and corrosion so I have to cook on tin foil or a silicone baking mat. I have followed all maintainence instructions and keep the cover on when not in use. Please consider stainless grates for this grill.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Very Good Grill, at first! I bought my spirit 210 in 2015. Two burner was perfect now that it's just the two of us. We loved it for the first two-three years but starting about a year ago, Rust. It has never sat outside with the lid open, usually under cover or in shed. No real weather issues here in Florida but for some reason it has rusted worse than cheap grills I have owned. I never thought I would be comparing it to those cheap grills, as much as I liked it at first. Last year I replaced the flavorizer bars but now the grates are shot. The burners are rusty but they still work. The inside of the lid has all the paint flaked off and it gets in the food and a few spots will be rusted through before long although the outside looks great. I haven't been able to use the warming rack for some time. I just expected a Weber to hold up better.
