My 1994 Weber grill is outstanding in all ways!
After 22 years of always-start service (as compared with a few months to a year for every other gas grill I owned before Weber), my grill failed to light on the first push, and second. This was a first. So, I ordered the igniter kit, which I figured would cost $25 but cost $11. Even better, by the time it arrive a few days later, my grill was back to starting every time. Grease in the sparking unit, I suspect. So, no need to install.

Satisfaction Guaranteed
The best thing about Weber Grills is the simplicity of getting the parts you need for your grill. My Weber Grill is over 15 years old. It's no surprise that parts burn out and need to be replaced. I've rebuilt my grill three times over the time I've owned the grill. Each I rebuilt the grill it was like getting a new grill. Obviously this is good for me and not so good for Weber's sales group.

Easy to replace on a 26 year old Genesis 1
My dad gave me his old 1992 Genesis 1 which he had not used in many years. The igniter had rusted out and he never got around d to replacing it. I was not sure if this igniter would fit this original Genesis, but I researched online and did establish that the push button and the holes in the cook box matched later Genesis models. Between the enclosed instructions and a few you tube videos, I was able to install in a few minutes.
I am so impressed and even thrilled to find a company that builds products to last and supports owners with available replacement parts. In a culture of disposable everything, to be able to find parts for a 26 year old barbecue is really wonderful.
Incidentally, the only other parts I needed to purchase to get this old barbecue up and running was a new set of burner tubes. I did need to clean the valves (another you tube video project) but didn’t need new ones.

Do-it-Yourself Repair Success
The igniter finally wore out, and although we could still start the gas with a match, I wanted the igniter available to start the gas in the grill. The replacement kit worked perfectly and was relatively simple to install. I wasn't positive when I ordered it that it would work, replacing the one in our very old grill, but it did. The auto igniter fired up the the gas the very first time!

Easy to install!
When the movers delivered our Weber grill, a portion of the igniter was missing. I called Weber customer support and helped me determine the proper replacement part to order. The igniter was delivered within a few days and the instructions were very straightforward to follow. I installed the new igniter and it worked perfectly on the first try!

Terrific All Around Experience
I bought this ignitor kit about 3 weeks ago as the ignitor on a pretty old grill we inherited no longer worked. The Weber site had a very reasonable price and free shipping. It arrived in a few days, the installation instructions were easy to follow, and it took only a few minutes to install. Thank you Weber!

Works AWESOME and simple to install
I initially bought a generic igniter kit. It did not install easy and did not perform worth a darn. This Weber igniter installed very simply and when I hit the button it starts the fire on the very first push of the button. I wish I would have bout the Weber igniter in the first place.

Excellent quality
Outstanding quality, and fits perfectly( just can not beat webber quality) Have owned this red top webber for 25 years still looks great and cooks Sooooo good!! I also own and use three other webbers. I have given Webber grills to both of our kids for Christmas presents

Wished it would last longer
This is the third time I have needed to replace the igniter on my Weber gas grill. The sheet metal section that catches the gas for ignition is thin and keeps rusting out. Perhaps if it was made of heavier metal (and cost a little more) they would last longer.

The first time I had replaced the igniter on my 19 year old weber which get used 4 days per week. I purchased it in Houston TX when I lived their and is now with me in Melbourne Australia. It looks like going for another 19 years, hopefully??

stopped working after the second ignite
i installed the unit relatively easily and reattached and reassembled everything after i tested the igniter after installation- it lite immediately --- got my 90 year old mother it test it after i reassembled it and it never ignited again.

Better Than the Original
The replacement part for my 20+ year old grill looks "beefier" than the original I replaced. The leads from the ignitor are heavier gauge. Installation took about 5 minutes. Kudos to Weber for making parts for old grills available.

Easy to install
Easy to install following directions. I was sure I'd have to use matches forever with our very old, very sturdy Weber when the ignitor broke 1 year ago. Who knew that parts would be available and so easy to put in. Thanks, Weber!

i bought this and im very unhappy not the same part as on my spirit grill , on my spirit grill i had a nice button to put this part is just a cheap little button not happy wasted my money.

Wasn't a exact fit

Fortunate to Find the Right Ignitor
I was pleasantly supplied that Weber had the right ignitor for my 1996 Spirit 200.
With a little bit of resurfacing the grillbox wire hole, it worked!!

Did not fit.
Even though I was very careful to buy the correct starter, when I got it, it did not fit. I had to modify it to get it in. Now that it it is installed, it works great.
