My Weber Genesis Silver B, the best grill I ever had, was in the ICU. Ignitor=toast. Thermometer = toast. Replaced the burners once. The flavorizor bars, once. I was on the second ignitor. Second set of grates. Such a short time. 13 years. Grilling all season. Yes, I've grilled shrimp in the snow. Through it all, my little Genesis B did it all. Pulled pork, ribs, steak, asparagus, chicken breasts, green beans, marinated vegetables, pork chops, all year, all weather. But, the frame was rusting (my fault, buy a cover), wheel came off. But .... if I had to replace that stalwart, save my rear end grill (large family gatherings when the grill knew more than I did), where would I go?
LOL...my Weber Genesis E310 was delivered Monday. It's a freakin' monster. We've done our signature strip steaks on it and can't wait for everything else. I also just got into cast iron cooking -- perfect for this thing. No need to heat up the kitchen in the summer. Throw the skillet/dutch oven on the Weber. It's a Weber, it's solid, extremely well built, will last at least another 13 years and, most importantly, cook like a Weber. I'm thrilled. Sorry to lose the old, but just in time for the new. FYI...the porcelain coated cast iron grates go flat side up. Just so you know.
