This is the "Franconian Burger". Inspired from traditional bavarian cooking like bratwurst, sweet mustard, dark beer etc. My wife made a dellicious potato sallad of grilled potatoes, carrots, mayonnaise, mustard, salt and pepper. We cooked the burgers in a large drip pan filled with dark "Kellerbier", onions and sweet mustard for about 30 minutes on high heat. Then i took the onions over in an iron pan for caramelizing, adding 1 spoon of brown sugar and grilled it on medium heat for 10 minutes. Then I grilled the bratwurst for 7-8 minutes turning once.
The potato buns was homemade and i grilled them on each side for one minute. Composing the burger was easy. Bun, sweet/sour cucumbers, Bratwurst, onions, potato sallad, parsley, and one flower from chives, and the top-bun. Something new and interesting i think. Looks nice and tasted very good.
