I was only born six months ago, but I have already learned my dad is quite the grill master in training. Since the time I was in my mommy’s belly – tasting my first delicious lump charcoal grilled sirloin, to dad’s grilling dedication to bring a little summer warmth to our home on a cold Midwestern winter night, or to dad’s enjoyment of spending a day with me and his Weber Performer for an ‘all-day’ smoking marathon - adding briquettes every hour. I enjoy the sweet smell of Daddy’s grilling success with the wonderful scents that Dad smells like – including mesquite or hickory. I’ve learned that my dad takes his tools seriously and believes in a job well done (though I hear from Dad “well-done” need not apply to steaks). It’s obvious that his grill and grilling technique is another one of his proud tools that I can’t wait to get my hands on when I’m older. Mom was talking to me about this contest where Daddy can learn to grill even better with Weber’s resident Grill Master, Kevin Kolman…I think he would really enjoy it, especially as a gift for his first Father’s Day! I know he would be super excited and ready to learn and cook all he can with Kevin and I. While I’m just beginning to eat solid foods now, I cannot wait to enjoy one my dads grilled dinners.
