My name is Chris, named after my dad. I recently finished my third year at the Virginia Military Institute where I was one of the founding members of the unofficial Grilling Club. I knew what I was doing because I had seen my dad grill hundreds, maybe thousands, of times on his favorite Weber grill (he currently has 5 Webers). He sits on the deck with a cigar hanging out of his mouth, spatula in one hand, beer in the other, and he watches the smoke rise out of the vents of the grill. He loves grilling. To him, if it’s not grilled or smoked, then it’s not a proper meal. He NEEDS to go grill with Kevin Kolman because, like Kevin, grilling is his passion. He has earned this amazing opportunity by devoting his life to his wonderful wife and four sons. He works exhaustively at an increasingly stressful job to put food (especially grilled food!) on the table for his large family. He is an outstanding role model for my little brothers and me. He has taught us honor, respect, and discipline by setting the standard for us to emulate. He is a proud veteran of the Navy (he has a lot of great Navy stories). He never takes time for himself, he truly deserves this rewarding experience.
