One word, Grilladelic. The word behind the movement my dad has started in West Michigan. A former owner of a barbecue store, 15 year veteran of the Michigan barbecue competition circuit, a man with a passion. He's the Buddha of BBQ, on his quest for grilled enlightenment. An inventive guy who's used everything from Dr. Pepper to coffee beans in his custom creations. For years he's traveled to competitions with nothing more than 2 Weber kettle grills and hung with the big boys who come with their thousand-dollar grills from around the country. He's been hailed as the man who's going to bring barbecue to Grand Rapids, working with people around the state saying “Grand Rapids is going to be the barbecue capital of Michigan.” It would mean the world to him for his protege (myself) to win him a trip like this, plus, The Windy City could use a little Grilladelic.
